First time STB and its more fun than I expected.

After waiting 24hrs I took the warm jars and carefully transferred half the naphtha in a pyrex dish. Now the dish was colder than the jars and as soon as I dropped the naphtha in the dish it became opaque and yellow (from transparent red-brown).

Freezing it didn't produce anything good so I reasoned maybe I should heat it up until it becomes transparent and proceed with freeze-prec. from there.

While warming it up there was something like an oily condensate on the bottom taking the shape of a network of droplets (like multiple amoeba connected via their pseudopodia). But since the liquid was transparent again I proceeded with the freezing bit.

Now the dish is covered in crystals clusters both around and coming out of the yellow-brownish oily blobs. The naphtha looks even more transparent now.

I left the jars at room temp and noticed that the the liquid phase was covered in a very similar yellow-ish brown stuff as the oily condensate (only this time it covered the aqeuous phase uniformly).

If thats wax/fats the maybe its worth cooling down the jars to room temp before transferring naphtha for freeze-prec? Or would that reduce yield?
