Still more miss than hit with GVG

Migrated topic.
hmm...well i always liked the use of herbs as a screen...less fuss almost like instant changa..just put some passion flower and mulliun or other such items down, then sprinkles your dose, and cover with herbage, then no fus vape just light up your herbs and the hot embers will vape the spice as soon as they get close, i have always had difficulty with a straight vape tecnique its not that i cant get it to work, its just so much more fussy. i like simple straight forward, the sanwich technique is much easier in my opinion, also someone mentioned taking deep breaths and preheating the bowl a bit, this is incredibly helpfull

Wow, lots of really helpful information here peoples. Thanks ever so much for taking the time to reply with your thoughts, experiences and techniques. Especially the people that would have seen threads like this a few times before and still take the time to help their fellow beings out. Not sure when my next time will be but I'll report back for sure. With plenty of reading on the NEXUS in the meantime.

I've found a torch lighter to be far less effected by wind in an outdoor environment too.

One problem might be that you’re inhaling too quickly. If you inhale too quickly, you’ll be out of breath before you’ve managed to melt, vaporize, and inhale a full dose. Here’s what I do:

1. Begin by taking a series of very deep, slow breaths. Inhale deeply, then exhale fully. Do this three times at least. (This not only oxygenates your blood, but has a nice pre-launch calming effect as well.)

2. As you start the last exhale, begin heating the GVG ceramic diffuser.

3. When every last bit of air is out of your lungs, slowly begin inhaling through the GVG, and keep the torch heating it, raising or lowering the flame to control temperature. It’s very important to inhale slowly.

4. If you’re doing everything right, after 5-10 seconds, the DMT will begin to vaporize. If you’re really doing everything right, the full dose will vaporize almost instantaneously. Don’t be alarmed when you feel the ultra-concentrated vapor enter your lungs.

5. Continue to slowly inhale, and when no more vapor is being generated, bring the flame even closer to the ceramic diffuser to ensure that everything has been vaporized.

6. Remove the flame, and draw a bit of cool air through the GVG into your lungs. This helps to hold the vapor for a longer period.

7. Hold the vapor in your lungs for as long as you reasonably can.

BINGO! I just tried slowing my inhalation right down and it did the trick! No breakthrough as I still had some of the last tries dose in there, BUT I had an awesome experience with what was left in there.
OK, Hyperspace here I come8) Thanks a whole bunch for this post gibran2:)

I didn't really get the meaning of this, could you please explain?
Apply the torch flame to the ceramic diffuser before you start inhaling through the GVG. This will help to pre-heat the ceramic, so that when you do inhale, it won’t take quite as long to heat things up.
Sorry for being insistent, but I still don't understand how to "apply the torch flame to the ceramic diffuser". It looks that there is no reasonable way to preheat the ceramic without inhaling - which is impossible while just exhaling. I really want to try to learn how to use my GVG but the resources on this are scarce and unclear over the internet - even on their website. Thank you!

With a torch lighter, it is possible to heat the ceramic without inhaling. It won’t heat it as much as when you start to inhale, but it’s something I do in effect to “pre-heat” the ceramic.

Just point the flame straight down onto the ceramic. It will heat up somewhat.

(I don't even know how big a difference this step makes. It's just part of my personal "ritual".)

I wouldn't worry about pre-heating the ceramic filter before inhaling, it probably saves you just couple inhalation seconds...

Are we talking about making the ceramic glow or ?

3-4mm pressed and round copper mesh is perfect. Make sure not to apply too much heat when vaporizing. Keep the torch lighter's tip about 1cm above the bowl.

So basically tele, holding the lighter 1 cm above the bowl until no moar vapor appears ?

Sorry for taking so long to reply... Yes, I would recommend keeping the torch lighter's tip about 1-2cm from the ceramic filter.
