strange results

i went back and did a second extraction of 500grams MHRB with basified methonol....after haveing done the same cake method extraction on it previoulsly....this time i got roughly 5 grams....much more than i expected....BUT its near black as that i always extract with ether but it's never been this color....and it tastes like aleady burnt dmt or dry hitting a dmt pipe...in short horrible....it made me puke twice
what's so strange is that i havent changed anything as far as method goes, and the first extraction yeilded redorange crystals but this stuff is just oil and im sure that there arnt any aldulterants....could it just be like pure jungle with almost no dmt???
i dont know...you guys tell me

never heard of someone getting black extracts. Just gonna throw out a couple theories and suggestions until someone more knowledgeable clears this up.

Is there the same about of base in the water in the first extraction?

Too much time in the basified methanol?

What were you using as a non-polar solvent? Sound like that you may have pulled jungle on your first pull.

Or you could have unknowingly gotten your "MHRB soup" into your solvent

I would recrystallize and see if that clears it up.

i left the second extraction for 1 week marinating before i filtered and dried into a cake....later disolved the cake into hot water and extracted with ether...stb style----trust me....no syrup in the solvent.-...i have sep funnels and LOTS of experience
on the first and second pull, i always use ether....on the first extraction i pulled 6 grams...so i was extreamly suprised to find that i pulled 5 from the second with only 500grs to start with...i'll put some pics up when i get a chance....i have no doubt that it contains dmt as that it is starting to crystalize and is definatly halluciongenic but i'm going to have to try to rxlize in naptha...it's just very rare and expensive here
what is odd to me is that it tasets burnt...i dont use heat in any cycle or stage

is it possible to leave it for too long in the basaified methanol....i was thinking the longer the better

when i smoked some i had an experience...i actually forgot i smoked and was confused as to where i was at for a second and why i was halucinating and i looked down at my hand and saw i had a half smoked joint and i thought ,but that's impossible, i was just considering rolling one....it took a few minutes for me to figure things out and i swear it was a little like time travel...i re lit the joint and fount the taste to be horrible and it made me retch and puke....i thought...wtf...i'll roll another and did with immediate nausia and dread of the taste...i put it out and decided to ask you guys

It could be Lye contaminations. Try washing your crystals in a filter with icey ammonia.
