Subcutaneous Injections

Is there any reason subcutaneous injections cannot/should not be used in place of IV or IM injections? In other words, if IV and/or IM injections are appropriate roas that sc cannot be used as well?

Is that just a general question or is it somehow related to the DMT-Nexus?
