sublingual harmalas no effect?

Migrated topic.

For my first experience with harmalas I decided to go with sublingual administration. I used 25mg of harmalas made by the easy caapi extract method from yellow caapi. I placed under my tongue and held them in there for around a half hour.

The only effects I feel are hungry feeling in my stomach and a very slight headache. Is this what is expected? I assumed there would be some feeling of stimulation or sedation or at least some feeling that would allow me to know there working.

If anyone can comment that'd be great.

Have you converted the alks to a salt?
I've heard freebase works, however freebase alkaloids are not water soluble & can not be as easily absorbed via mucous membranes. Same as snorting.

No it's freebase. I've always assumed this is what people did.

So I should convert to salt for pharmahuasca or sublingual dosing?

I havn't been able to get sublingual to work w/ freebase but i've only tried once.
For oral i always just dissolve in 10ml vinegar & 40ml water & drink.

I'd suggest you try your alks orally starting from 200mg & increase the dosage slowly until you figure out what dose works for you.
That way you know if your harmalas are working & can gauge potency to some degree by dosage.

I was hoping to do that but sublingually. I dunno why but it seems more appealing and the smaller doses make for having to use less which is obviously better on your pocket.

I'm hoping other chime in and post there results using freebase harmalas sublingualy.

Guess I'll try and convert some to salt and attempt again.

EDIT: After searching the forums I've found that plenty of people prefer freebase harmalas for sublingual as they have no taste and people say they are quite effective. Maybe I just need a higher dose . maybe Im one of those that has a natural high tolerance.

25mg is a good dose for sublingual freebase caapi alkaloids.

Freebase caapi alkaloids are readily absorbed, and have no unpleasant taste.

Don’t expect to feel any significant alteration – for me it seems to produce a mild anxiolytic/calming effect. Even if you don’t feel an effect, it will likely influence a vaporized DMT experience.

Good luck!

I think maybe it just took longer to hit me. I was expecting results in 30 minutes or so and only felt hunger at that point. However a hour or so after dosing I did feel a mild sedation or relaxing effect.

I'll try it with smoked DMT tomorrow.
