sun melted dmt during the evap.

my buddy spark made some dmt and after he removed his dish from the freezer and poured off the naptha he left the dish out so it could finish evap-ing. when he took this dish out the sun was barely starting to rise so he didnt think to put the dish in the shade and put it sitting under his patio. he went inside and when he came back out it was really sunny and like half of his dish had turned into like a clear goo and the other half was the white crystals... can someone tell me what happened and how he can fix it?

DMT melts at a relatively low temperature. This would be hastened by the presence of solvent residue.

If you want crystals you can repeat the freeze precipitation with a smaller amount of solvent.

ok... can my friend still use the stuff that melted? or does he have to recrystalize it for it to be good dmt again?

Think to yourself... is there any reason why that substance could not be used as originally intended? In what way would melting have made it something other than 'good DMT'?
