[Survey] Exploring Psychedelic Experiences: Reasons for use and Long-term Effects

Migrated topic.

Just finished it this afternoon. I'm also very interested to see what may be sussed out of the data!

Much appreciated Spiral. I will try and give some preliminary stats in a few months once I've finished recruiting. The analysis of the interviews will take longer though but I think general information about users will be quite interesting. Maybe I'll do some comparisons between Nexians and Shroomerians :D?

Just thought I'd update anyone interested. We're at 195 completed survey so far and I've complete 7 interviews. Slowly getting there. Thanks for all the support fellow Nexians!

Just finished ✅. Sorry I’ve been super busy lately. Glad I was finally able to do it. 👍

Thank you Achilles, very much appreciated. No worries on the time, it's going to up for awhile still. No rush

Just thought I'd give everyone an update. I have just recently finished all the Interviews (still recruiting for people to complete the online survey). Have had a really good turn out overall with just under 350 people completing the online survey and 27 interviews completed (averaging about 2.5-3hrs each *phew*). I am now going to finish off transcribing all the interviews and get into data analysis. I will post some of the preliminary results over the next month or two. The whole thesis should be done by Mid may (hopefully) and i'll make sure everyone has full access to it if they wish.

Hey man. I hope you are doing well.

If you read my posts on this site I'm sure you will remember me.
I wanted to personally thank you for interviewing me for your thesis. It has led me to re evaluate all of my previous psychedelic experiences in a way that I had never done before. Talking to you for all those hours really helped me understand myself better. Thank you for doing what you do. I appreciate you so much and am so excited to read your thesis.

Just an quick update about the research. All interviews have been completed. We got 26 in total with rougly 70hours of interview content. Everything has been transcribed (which took ages). We're now beginning analysis on the interviews. The online survey portion is still active and up online. If anyone is interested in filling it out still that would be awesome (should take about 30mins). I will be taking it down soon (we currently have about 430 who have completed and would be cool to hit 500). It will be a few more months before anything is published. There is just a lot of data to go over. Will post again when there is further progress. Just know that it's chugging along in the background and I will provide a link to the thesis and any additional published articles related to the project once they're available.

Thanks for the support fellow Nexians!

Awesome, I'm a big reader, have over 150 books on entheogens in my library, love the surveys. Antipodes of the Mind author Benny Shannon interviewed hundreds of people for the data he collected at the end of his book.

Hey all just an update on what's going on with the study at the moment. We are now up to 596 people who have done the survey, woo! Massive turnout, thanks to all the Nexians who chipped in their time (and everyone else too  ). We are now in the thematic analysis process about 1/5 the way through the first pass. This will probably take a few more months than orginally planned. The amount of data is not overwhelming, but very substantial and it just takes time and energy whilst also doing all the normal life things. The online survey is still up if anyone wants to contribute. I will be taking it down soonish, no solid date atm but it's been up long enough I think (just over 8 months). I have not looked into the survey data at all yet so I'm sure there are going to be a lot of interesting things to find in there. A few students here at the university are going to be using it for their honours year project so that's cool. I will update again when we're further through the whole analysis. Keep on keeping on fellow travellers.

Thank you for doing this, and everyone's invested time!

I want to check out the results, but I got the following error:
