SWIM's epic IPA soak

Migrated topic.

John Smith
SWIM just recieved much awaited 99.99% IPA and planning to do a month-long soak with the following:

stems of caapi foliage
caapi vine
powdered chaliponga
blue lotus flowers
blue lotus 15x resin extract (he will just drop this later on)

He would add more but does not want to contaminate the soak with too many non-psychoactives. He considered white sage(Salvia apiana) but still on the fence. The resulting soak will be reduced and evapped onto changa along with some spice. Addition of bufotenine extract is also considered.

He plans on using 500ml IPA and would like to hear recommendations of nexus dwellers regarding the ratios. He doesnt mind harmala-heavy experiences.

IPA is a poor solvent for harmalas, you might be leaving a lot of harmalas behind doing this soak. If you do this, i suggest soaking up the caapi foliage and vine separately from the rest, and later trying to do a simple A/B on that to see if more alkaloids crash out, as there will most likely be harmalas left behind in the plant material

SWIM proceeded to grind 15g of stem which he later added to 20g of powdered chaliponga and defatted with warm naptha thrice over a day, dried and mixed with about 400ml of IPA. Dark glass bottle was put in a sink with hot tap water. SWIM will occasionally update on the progress.

Thank you, SWIM however used only stem from caapi leaf so he wasnt too concerned about throughout alkaloid extraction, hence he did not take your advice.

Yesterday he strained and discarded the material, then added few grams of blue lotus and 3 brunfelsia grandiflora leaves to this deep green colored IPA, waited a couple of hours then strained again. He evapped a tiny amount, maybe 30ml, onto 10-15 grams of Blue Lotus and Damiana. SWIMs an eyeballer so he doesnt have measurements. Upon drying these herbs almost did not change color(slightly paler), and are almost same density by touch as their original form.

To the main container of this alkaloid-saturated IPA SWIM added 3 more brunfelsia grandiflora leaves, few grams of blue lotus, few grams of Salvia Apiana, few grams of Calea, and about 10 grams of Salvia Dilvinorum leaf. After about 6 hours at above average warm room temperature he filtered this again. He added a lot of passionflower, about three quarters of the total volue(wtf these look like twigs ?? i expected flowers. Arrived from TrancePlants). He defatted about 20 grams of powdered chaliponga approximately(LOL) 6 times and left up drying. It is soon to be added to the main soak.

He is now working on saturating separate batch of IPA with NaOH to make a crude extract of super expensive mimosa he ordered long time ago from maya. Small packet reads: "Logwood/Peachwood, roobark(2)Whole Brazil 25g". He took remaining 13g and crushed it with a hammer. He is going to combine this crude extract with the main soak.

SWIM just tried the herbs mentioned above. He smoked 2 huge bowls of it with a tiny pinch of a/b rue and small amount of shwag in the 2nd bowl only. Very nice. Distinct from weed or weed+harmalas. Very mind stimulating. SWIMs is in the process of smoking more bowls RIGHT NOW :d

Edit: weak CEV activity, prior to smoking more bowls.

Edit2: SWIM smoked a bowl of tobacco with shwag. This is going strong now. He listened to
and HOLY SHIT hes never heard these sounds before. Definite sound amplification and slight distrortion.

Not saying this in a condescending way but can't you make high purity IPA by salting out store-bought IPA?

It is not. Jimjam shop has/had packages of affordable 99.99% IPA, thats what I bought. I've never worked with IPA before and their product seemed like a good way to start.

Question about menstrum to anybody who worked with such preparations: Does it oversaturate with alkaloids at some point ? Theres now total of 40g of chaliponga along with a variety of other crap such as over 70g of passionflower, I am wondering if this IPA is even able to pull more alkaloids ? I am slightly heating it occasionally since I dont wannna pull too much unwanted stuff. Would adding a small amount of base(NaOH, CaOH, NA2CO3) help the process ?

So far the contents are: 20g chaliponga, approx 15g of caapi stem, 15-20g of caapi vine. This been soaked for 3 weeks and removed. To this now green IPA following have been added in bulk: 20g more of almost fully defatted powdered chaliponga, ~70g of passionflower stem. And following have been added in trace amounts: blue lotus, salvia apiana, salvia divinorum(~5g), brunfelsia chiricaspi, brunfelsia grandiflora, calea.

separate batch of 13g of premium MHRB prepared by simmering in heavily basified IPA is going to be added to the main preparation as well. I will post pics of if I can on the progress.

lol that's a crazy mix!

it is :)

Left like 10ml to evap over night. It looked like thin layer of dark green paint on the bottom of the glass. Threw some blue lotus flowers in, then poured in like 5ml of mimosa acetone made from basified IPA simmer mentioned above and mixed it all well to dissolive the the green layer on the bottom.

SMELLS DELICIOUS :d

pics incoming soon
