A forum member who's name escapes me mentioned somewhere before that actives of rue are mostly or entirely contained in shells of seeds therefore grinding is unnecessary. Being sceptical of the claim and assuming great alkaloid loss 5g of seed was boiled to determine if sufficient MAO inhibition will be achieved for purposes required, and compare how it would feel to a standard 3g dose. It worked great and was stronger - although impossible to say that it would feel like a regular dose of 5g would. Taste and smell were greatly improved however. It was as bitter but lacked a certain flavour of nastiness that ground syrian rue has.
Given how cheap rue is, it seems to me that an extraction on whole seed is something worth trying because rigorous filtering process(or decanting) would no longer be needed. Less smell too - boiling ground rue in vinegar is quite a process to endure  If the forum member is correct, alkaloid content wont be reduced, or if it will it won't be by much, I guess up to 10% is acceptable. A pure speculation - but what if Manske step won't be needed ? What if only a trace of vasicine and vasicinone makes it in this way ? It would be interesting to see how the process would be different this way. Any ideas or input on this idea, or perhaps its been done already ?
