syrian rue

Does anyone know if Syrian rue deteriorates over time? I have some seeds which are around 3 years old & seem to be less effective.

Harmalas are some of the most durable alkaloids around, afaik. There shouldn't be any significant degradation over time, perhaps if they were exposed to extreme heat for a good period of the three years...but even then, I think it's unlikely.
