Hi All,
First of all, I'm still working on my essay (making sure it's quality rather than gibberish) by way of proper introduction - so please excuse the cart before the horse approach.
Secondly I stumbled across a really good Tek on the wiki (Cybs' Hybrid ATB) and at the Evap stage the tek calls for multiple trays to hold the pulls for freezing before removing the naphtha. One of the things that I was curious on was why multiple trays were required? From a cursory look I can only imagine that it allows for quicker freeze times, if that's the case - wouldn't a single large tray achieve the same thing (as long as the point of separation in the freezing process was achieved) with either multi-stage decant/removal of naphtha or just a bulk decanting of the naphtha (tip it out into a jar)?
Having not tried it myself, I'm more curious as to this step. Thanks for your help on the matter.
