So SWIM was getting ready use some spice with his friend - they were going to take turns and tripsit each other. The conditions were perfect - good headspace for both of them etc. But as SWIM went to refill his butane torch, the ladder he used to get to it collapsed under him. Yet SWIM landed on his feet and was completely unharmed. SWIM didn't think much of it and chalked it up to good luck. But then as he filled the pipe, he dropped it and it shattered all over the floor. It was his only pipe and he has to buy a new one now.

He suspects something from a different world was trying to stop him from using it that night. Has anyone else had a crazy experience like this?

Welcome to the Nexus. That was quite a story.

I'm all too aware it could have gone different. You could have broken an ankle or cut yourself so bad you needed stitches.

I'm glad you came out of the experience unscathed.

To answer your question, yes I have had similar things happen around the use of DMT and around other short term goals in life where it literally seemed like the Universe was rearing up to make a personal intervention to say STOP.

I'm old enough to be of the opinion that these signs should probably be attended to.

One will know when the time is right. For you it sounds like it will be a trifecta between set, setting and having some good equipment in hand.

I'd love to hear more about you and what brought you to the Nexus.

Have you ever considered doing your own extraction of DMT? There are a lot of fairly easy TEKs here.

Do you have much entheogen experience?

If you had been successful in smoking the spice before you went in did you have a set intention?

Speaking for myself I'm definitely looking forward to the next part of this story.

Hi! I too am looking forward to finding out whatever that was... should be an interesting experience when the time comes and I feel called, but not before then. I'm glad to be on the Nexus! Thanks to this place, SWIM has been able to extract spice from MHRB successfully and hasn't needed to post, but now that he has a little more experience with entheogens and psychedelics he thought it would be a good idea to join the community here. This place has been around since long before I knew what DMT was... it feels good to finally be here. Feels right.

As for smoking spice itself, SWIM (who has used psilocybin and saliva multiple times before) intended for that to be his first experience. Recently he had something of an awakening and felt called to begin this journey after years of traditional SSRI treatment had no effect on him whatsoever. He feels called to take matters into his own hands now and find the root of his problems... And he has liked the results psilocybin has given him so far and feels called to spice in a way he can't explain.

I applaud you on completing your own extraction. It's more important than ever to work with plants or extract from plants due to the realities of the poisoned drug supply in my opinion. But, it sounds like you already know that.

I think you are going to like hyperspace. In some ways it is very similar to very high dose psilocybin. In other ways not.

I was actually glad to read that you had salvia divinorin experience. I'm assuming you achieved a 3-D visionary state. Salvia space in my experience is very strange and quite non Euclidean. I think this non Euclidean aspect explains a lot of the so called freak out videos. If the people in those videos had experiences similar to mine then they literally had the sensation that if they took one step forward they would be on a different block.

The good news is that so called sleep walking on a DMT trip is extremely rare. The spice tends to take us into a trance if not take us right out of our bodies. I want to warn you that for some of us when we come back into our bodies we are paralyzed for a short time. It's okay it wears off quickly.

The call to spice is very real. I am so glad you decided to quit lurking and join us.

Thank you! I honestly have no experience with chemistry whatsoever so it was something of a miracle it worked on the first try for SWIM. Just a lot of mostly useless pharmacology knowledge that mostly pertains to serotonin in some way or another. 5-Hydroxytryptamine. Always has astounded me that so few tweaks to that molecule can produce something as profound as DMT. Adding two methyl groups and taking out the hydroxy. That's my spiel for the day.

Also interesting that psilocybin is just modified DMT, in this case O-Phosphoral-4-Hydroxy-DMT. Just a few tweaks that make it stick around in the brain longer. And such a different yet strikingly similar experience. Truly, nature put this here for us as parts of it to use, and it would be a shame to go my life shirking this gift in the name of fear.

Salvia was a good intro - I never "broke through" but I experienced the non-Euclidean shapes you speak of, I fell backward into my own mind for the first time in what seemed like forever. It was the first time in my life I wasn't thinking about thinking - I just was. I think in a way that can be the most terrifying part of it for some people who aren't prepared - the ego death is all-encompassing. For me at least I found myself displaced almost to the point of a 3-D experiance but not totally - I blame it on the strength of the extract. SWIM has always gotten better results with high-dose psilocybin as you mentioned... That and most of those dumb trip videos have them smoking 80+x extracts as if it's weed... no wonder they freak out.

I am excited for my first dance with the spice. I will be sure to report back here, and I'm almost done with the questionnaire!

Using SWIM doesn't absolve you from legal troubles, so don't waste your time with it.

Glad you came out of it unhurt.

I once stood up after smoking dmt in an oil burner and shattered the oil burner. Was weird because the pipe breaking when it fell out of my lap had an effect on me like I just accidentally broke the universe. Turns out the universe is still in working order and I had other pipes.


For me, SWIM = Someone Who IS Me. Because I'm willing to accept all credit and/or blame. :D
