The Arc Turboflame Lighter Available in US for $13!

Migrated topic.
Hey I just got an email back confirming that these ARE lighters made in China, possibly knockoffs, and that this "is reflected in the price".

Well. Had them for a month and they still work well. Yours died within five minutes, but then again, I remember jbark's original arc lighter also died when he just received it, if i'm not wrong.

So I guess it's hard to say if they are crappier than the original ones or not.

mines don't light long like one seconds or two... damn !!

Did you mess around with the size of the flame after filling it? Mine took a little tweaking to get it right but now it works just fine. My original Arc was the same. Could be possible you just happened to get a bad one. If that's the case you.should contatc the seller and see if he'll replace it.

Yeah, mine was an original and sparked a few times and dies... then I had it "repaired" (jimmy rigged:) ), and after a couple of months it stopped working again.

HOWEVER, i just this morning saw a street vendor selling them on La Brea (I am in LA) for 14 bucks! Maybe a knockoff, but i'll probably pick one up. At least I'll be able to try it first.

Right on! I dont care where they are from. So far the three I have are working great! I have used all three several times.

I keep one by the wood stove.
I keep one in my GVG case.
I keep one next to my bong.

All three will get used at least once a day on average.

I'll let you know if any of em fail.

Oh ! Actually Ididn't but now I've checked it, it was on lowest and now it works a charm. Sweet ;)

I got my lighters a week ago and I couldn't be happier! These lighters are legit. Solid build quality. If your torch goes out tweak it. Also, after filling it takes a few tries to get the flow going.

ok, i turned the flame all the way up to max and it works now. it makes a big flame though and just goes out if i try to make it smaller.

Home Depot carries some nice butane lighters for like 5 bucks (extra fuel tank included). They're big, with long, flexible neck (for lighting camp fires).

Yeah that looks the same to me too. Not a bad business move either. Buy three for $30 (there was a discount if you bought three) then turn around and sell them for $20 each. Double your $.

I'm not sure that's exactly what this seller did but it would be an easy way to make a few bucks.
They are really good lighters.
Mine is still going strong just like my original (expensive) Arc.

I found the same lighter here for $19.99

I'm not sure if it's the same one but it looks just like it.
That is now 99.99 dollars for one. Guess they figured their demand was going up because all these nexians are ordering them.

GOOD news: I found an unbranded Arc Turboflame lighter at my local head shop for $20!

BAD news: The plastic bag in which the head shop owner handed me the lighter had a HOLE in the bottom, and as I was carrying it out of the parking lot, it dropped on the asphalt. Now it has some ugly dents and scratches, and the top half seems a little "loosened" from the bottom half. :? Just my luck for something like that to happen. At least it still seems to work fine.

Tomorrow I will get a chance to test it out with a brand new GVG. :d

i've had many problems with jet lighters throughout the past few years, my latest one just broke the other day... $50 from a head shop but $8 from dealextreme so i thought i'd try my luck, but no...

so i stumbled upon this thread, even though i read about the arc months ago here on the nexus... anyway, i got here in the end, i guess that's all that matters...

couldn't find the triple deal but just purchased the same lighters in a double combo, $30.50, making them $15 each which is still pretty good, i think it's a good idea getting multiple also because if one runs out of gas you have another already full, no need to worry about refilling and waiting...

cant wait til they arrive and finally have a decent lighter, or 2

thanks once again to the dmt nexus
