The Ayahuasca Visions of Pablo Amaringo

jonathan miller, the guy who owns and runs the guaria de osa eco-lodge in costa rica where i had my experience with the secoya elders, was a dear friend of don pablo's. there are pieces of his work all over the place and let me tell you.....up close and personal, these painting will rock your socks off. this guy was deeply experienced with yage. jonathan tells many interesting stories about him and speaks very highly of what was a truly righteous being.

good eye my friend, though there are many artists who have more training and 'skill' with a brush, i have not seen many (any, actually) who have captured the 'pinta' or 'spirit' of a yage journey the way don pablo did.

Fascinated by Pablo's work for some time now.What fascinates me even more is the descriptions of his visions.

Does anyone know of any other artists who take the time to describe and write about the visions so consistently? (genuinely want to find more who take the time to explain the details of the visions when it's dealing with specific things,people,beings etc)

I had the pleasure of meeting Anderson-Debernardi at boom festival very breifly last summer.I just wish there were more written accounts to accompany the visions.

What i find striking is the 'matter of factness' about everything Pablo speaks of. The types of spirits,beings,realms, planes, Planets and not to mention the variety of Extra-terrestrial beings and their origins and their level of interaction.

Templo Sacrosanto

This is the sacrosanct temple of the Pleiades. Pablo said, ‘if I had enough money I would like to build a temple like this by a lake. I would make a port to arrive at and a ramp to enter at the centre. How people would love to visit a place like that! I have seen it already in my vision and it is just like this’.
 
That last one (Temple of the Pleiades) is about the closest it seems that Pablo has come to recreating one of my visions - not to say that I've been to that temple or anything, but his typical amalgamation of imagery does not resonate with me (be it from smoked DMT or ayahuasca).

Yeah. Worth taking into account that there is a certain level of limitation when recreating the visions and experiences visually. Both in terms of artistic and technical ability but also in conveying and composing what would probably be a 4-8 hour dynamic moving experience in the space of one stationary image.

His descriptions that go along with the paintings are what intrigue me the most. The actual visual style isn't completely similar to what i've had but i guess the richness and colours and style would be dependent to a certain extent on where you are. A lot of the Spirits related to aya , do not seem bound by space and time, but i would imagine there are plenty that are bound or simply just choose to dwell in the beuaty and inter-dimensionality of the Amazon.

With any luck, i'll be going to the Amazon some point this year.Infinite excitement and anticipation because i know the Amazon is a native home to me even i've not been there yet. (in this lifetime anyway haha)
