I have already posted about negative effects of mixing DMT and Alcohol before but clearly I didn't learn my lesson as I have evaluated my experiences and formed a much better understanding of the impact this mistake can create.

my first post TLDR; got scolded hard by a mantid being after heavy alcohol induced amnesia encouraged redosing

It had been 6 months since I did DMT last because my insectoid experience helped me realize I needed a lifestyle change away from alcohol. I have since, began drinking again which did not originally inspire me to do any doses but recently, I have become re infatuated by the idea of dosing. I have in the past week tried two sessions both while under the influence of alcohol. The first experience had me passed out and shocked into a realm i find particularly boring, where I am sat in a void watching a big circular machine of candyland and neon coloring and possibly entities hard at work. I do nothing in these trips and I want to say I experience this realm most when I have been drinking. The biggest note I left with was almost an irritated mood at the lack of wonder within my experience I had learned to expect. It wasn't just not a fun time, but it wasn't like I had an expansive knowledge introspective or extrospective. It felt I was just dropped into the utility dimensions to sit there and watch like i'm attending a 'take your kid to work day'.

My last session was last night and that helped me realize the habit I developed as I dosed twice and the first dose was basically the same experience as the first session where I lacked any real wonder or at least forget it the moment I am back. This time it was like I was in the geometric candyland colored machine, but I cannot remember much of whether I was moving around or just in the same spot again as I believe this alcohol just memory wipes me when I choose to use it along side the DMT. Just like my first and last hyperslap, I came to and the amnesia made me scramble to load another dose thinking I could get back in although the paintings on my wall were still melting. This dose made me enter what I call 'The Swamp Realm' which I frequently enter on failed doses while drinking. This spot is stange as you do not lift off or pass out at all, maybe an increase of items in your room getting that switching geometry but everything feels so muggy instead of bright and vibrant. The experience sucks, its just so dim and honestly boring. You look in the mirror and instead of glowing beauty and looking amazingly symmetrical, you are ugly and dirty. I specifically remember hitting a dose out of the bowl, seeing symbols and geometry start to appear faintly changing my reality when then, faintly, some bubbling Mucinex monsters with eyes like that of a crocodile sitting in the water started to rise up around my bowl to fill my visual field HOWEVER this alcoholic trip made this mean nothing at all to me, as my ego was fully pulled out of the situation, it literally felt like I COULD turn my head away from it and it would be gone. This would have horrified me sober as I bet it was meant to serve as a slap but was too dimmed due to my inebriated state.

This is all to say, while I do hear of the rituals of a shot or a beer before to get the preflight anxiety down, my biggest recommendation will always to avoid drinking before a trip!! If not out of fear of a negative experience, avoid it out of fear of wasting your DMT as it quite literally dims your trip to where the lights aren't as bright, the realizations are not as deep, and the experience will be mean-spirited or tainted.

Safe tripping my friends, dont drink dat shi

@Toshido also documented lackluster experiences in combination with alcohol two or three years ago. In particular, colours were dulled and sharpness of the visions was reduced, iirc.

Found with a quick search:

It's really important not to combine alcohol with almost anything.

The main reason is that you lose impulse control, and then start thinking it would be a good idea or "cool" to take a toke.

The experience will be bad because your brain is already numb from the alcohol and competes with the dmt activation you are "hoping" for in that moment.

If it's difficult for you to not drink at certain evenings, then I would suggest to first take the deemzy and then decide afterwards if you want to drink, not the other way around.

Hey I'm new here, and just figuring out my way around, but I seen this and wanted to contribute because I technically have a lot of experience of doing DMT when I was under the influence of alcohol. The reason I say "technically" will become clear.

So, sober me also knows we shouldn't do it drunk, but drunk me has often overruled sensibility. There have been probably at least 15 to 20 occasions where I was pissed and decided to get out the pipe and the product.

Anyway, to condense all these experiences into a single explanation, is that every time I tried to visit the realm, it wouldn't happen, at least not in the expected way.

What I mean is, I would smoke the dose, set the pipe down and wait for it to hit. Then, I would get the usual and expected come on, the buzzing, the body load, etc, BUT THEN I would suddenly find myself 10 minutes in the future with no recollection of what happened in between.

I would immediately load up and try again, but the result was the same - amnesia... and I would try again and again, up to 10 times, but the outcome was always the same.

My interpretation is that I was just not allowed in whilst under the influence of alcohol. Instead, the DMT Gods simply wiped my memory, no matter how many times I tried.

To be fair tho, I consider that an interesting experience in itself; that you can be sat there expecting a trip, and then, as if someone clicked their fingers, it's like you are literally transported to the future.

Anyway, your post resonated, so I wanted to share. Maybe I'll write something more substantial about these particular experiences eventually.
