The perfect smoking instrument for a solo smoker?

Hello,

I currently smoke using a vaponic vaporizer which I have had success with but its not ideal.

I choose to smoke alone so when it comes to smoking the spice I would like something which requires little or easy handling. I find myself concerned about the candle or the hot glass resting on the table while I trip and it puts me of edge and takes my focus away from the trip.

So I am looking for something that requires very little work and can be handled easily when under the influence of the spice and will be safe sitting on a table while I am tripping.

Would an electric vaporiser work well, or should I stick to a naked flame?

Any suggests would be good or pictures of your device.

If you feel like experimenting a little bit I'd recommend looking into making changa. It can be smoked out of anything you'd smoke cannabis out of, which opens you to a whole bunch of options. I use it with a bong and I find it very easy and convenient. Plus, the water cooling helps to keep the smoke smooth.

All you have to do is read other threads about vaping dmt and you will know exactly what is recommended.

The gvg. It doesn't get so hot that you can't set it down, you should vape your dose in one hit with it so you have time to do this properly, it's the most efficient method so far. It's just a tad spend. Around $100.

I have been interested in vaporizers lately and I think the high end handheld might work. My eye is on the inhalaterxp.

GVG seems to what most people choose or they make something out of pipe fittings.

If you aren't looking to spend $100, use pipe fittings (read up on lead content in brass) or just want something simple to use a few times, get an oil pipe. Take a paper clip and bend it into a stand for it if you worry about hot glass on the table.

Changa seems to be very popular too, but it all comes down to what your budget and preferences.

By the way, anybody have luck adapting e-cigs or something like the omicron vape?

I'm actually in the process of making an e-cig work. Theres a thread in welcome discussion. I will be updating in there either in the next 30 minutes or tomorrow.

"The Machine" does not use any pipe fittings, JesusBuiltMyHotRod is thinking of another design that has been proposed on the forum. What you're going to get in this thread is a bunch of people's different opinions on what is "best". Many people will say the GVG (I agree with these people). But, because of the price, many are reluctant to make that commitment. I have found that in my opinion, The Machine takes a pretty close second to the GVG. It is easy to use, relatively discreet, very efficient, and can be made for around $5 USD. Many people on the forum are very opposed to oil pipes and other methods that vaporize spice using conduction. Others praise the oil pipe over all other methods. I myself have had decent results with certain conduction-style vaporizers, but once I tried convection (The Machine, GVG), I never looked back.

As previously mentioned, changa is also a very efficient option. Personally I feel that vaporizing is probably less harmful and I try to avoid inhaling burnt plant matter when I can. But, to each his own.

There are literally hundreds of threads on different smoking/vaporizing methods. As I and many others have found, the best way to go about it is really to try as many options as you can and see what you prefer.

This is what I do, either that or a bubbler. Anyway, I just wanted to share a quick story...

I use the same downstem for changa and weed. My downstem was completely clogged from overuse and since it has a diffuser the easier way to clean it is an IPA soak rather than pushing the resin out the end.

I let the downstem sit in 91% IPA overnight. The next day, the IPA was jet black which is to be expected from resin. Since my downstem was now clean, I tossed the dirty IPA into the toilet. Once the black IPA solution hit the toilet water TONS of white crashed out of the solution, enough to leave the entire toilet bowl full of white water even though I dumped black IPA into the bowl. I had smoked approximately a gram of changa out of that stem since the last cleaning.

While I will continue to smoke enhanced leaf and changa, I'm not sure that people realize how much of the spice gets stuck in the stem and is pretty much wasted. I know I certainly didn't realize I was losing that much spice. In the future I plan to use a layer of uninfused herbs below my enhanced leaf to absorb the DMT that melts down into the stem.
