The Value of Cannabis

Migrated topic.

..When I smoke now I actaully trip..and I mean that...I TRIP..to the point where I dont even want to go back there for a while..I dont buy it ever so I dont have it around, and the fact that I have no tolerance and I get such a mental warp from it is a deterant..sometimes cannabis is just real unpleasant now without tolerance. Its a very distinct psychedelic experience, that can be grating and cause much paranoia and anxious feelings. I keep it that way and there isnt much appeal..

It is a trip allright...
And because of the strange and tricky nature of the trip it can actually be difficult to use wisely. It is an art that needs to be learned and mastered. It requires discipline. Same with mushrooms for that matter, although these are less alluring. And i can imagine various forms of dmt usage also require some sort of knowledge and experience in order to navigate and avoid pitfalls and distractions.

I dont use cannabis socially. Instead i will use it for reflection and pondering, such trips take me some hours and can have real breaktrhoughs. Not in hyperspace, but in my way of thinking. Cannabis surely allows for some great out of the box thinking, imo she is the master of perspectives.

As i can read you all know what to watch out for with cannabis. And i guess a some point we all needed to break with her. But it would be a waste to leave it at that. You (myself included) finally learned to navigate... and then turn your back on her? What a waste...

you're smokin the wrong shit if you get lazy.. there are LOADS of different strains out there and for me everyone has its own twist. ever tried smoking hashish instead of weed? its a much cleaner high. it doesnt fuck up your thought patterns so much.. hashish goes much better with meditating. when i smoke weed i cannot read a book afterwards.. when i smoke hashish in a decent way its no problem.. i even remember what i read the next day. usually cannabis products are just way to strong nowadays.. back in the 60s weed used to have 3-5% thc.. if you scored 7% it was otherworldly.. now weed ranges from 15% to almost 27% sometimes even stronger.. its no wonder that you feel side effects.. my guess also is that not only the thc is being increased through all this hydro shit but also some of the other also psychoactive compounds found in it are getting to higher levels.. humans werent meant to smoke shit like that.. grow your own! dont buy! what you buy is mostly money oriented production. grow your own then make your own hashish! smoke little.. get yourself one of these tiny heads.. if you smoke little sometimes the effects take up to an hour to take ahold of you.. be patient. experiement with micro doses. try eating instead of smoking.. getting high is all about the dose.. and of course the strain.. most people dont even know what theyre talkin about. theres very little people who smoke hashish or weed and actually know how to use it wisely! ayahuasca can teach you to use it wisely. take ayahuasca and let it tell you. weed is medicine and can have quite astonishing effects.. a friend of mine once had an OBE with eating 0.3g of nepalese hashish. if you need recipies just pm.

This is the same propagandistic bullshit the government spouts. Do you really expect me to believe that we have achieved more genetic selectivity for high potency over the last 50 years than in 10,000 years of prior human use? You have presented an average thc content from the 60's that you are comparing with a ranged thc content from the present day  . This claim defies not only common logic, but actually evidence as well. In the 60's there was merely less availability of the higher potency strains because (on the whole) there was less cannabis overall and a higher percentage of schwag relative to the available crop at the time. Granted, I didn't live in the 60's, so I can't comment on it past the research I have done into this topic, but, when talking solely about average thc content (which is what the 60's percentages you posted represent), a lot of meaningful numbers and facts get swept under the rug.

I do find that now its great for physical activity. I dont do this often but maybe every few weeks I will smoke 1 hit with my friend and then go mountain biking..everything just becomes soo surreal riding through the forests. A tiny hit can really help me with my skimboarding as well..everthing starts to flow so nicely then I just lay there floating the ocean afterwards.

Tak and I often smoke before during and after yoga sessions, it is a completely tranquil experience. I also smoke when I give her massages.

Though most people say cannabis is a "depressant", I find it to be uplifting. I suffer from Cluster Headaches periodically, and it helps to relieve them quite a bit, without bad side effects :p of course.

I understand just perfectly what you mean Cloud, and i guess most potheads or ex-potheads do.

I smoked cannabis for 14 years, eventually i came to the uninevidable point that i started to smoke on unappropriate occasions, at work, family meetings, etc.

One day i finally realized this was no good, and i was addicted, i didn't smoke cannabis because i really wanted to, but because i thought i needed to, so i decided to take a 30 day break to prove i wasn't addicted, but i was ofcourse.

I mannaged, 30 days past, wich where very hard, i don't smoke tobacco, so i missed the inhaling of the smoke, actually the whole ritual, more then the effect, cause it made my head feel, well.... clouded all the time, i assume you know what i mean since your nickname is cloud, i guess this has a cannabis oriented reason.

After that time i waited 2 more days, before lighting up a spliff, it didn't take much to go into a good old fashioned cannabis experience like i didn't have for at least 10 years.

Now i choose one day in the weekend to smoke, and in the evening of that weekend alone, now i decide when, that's a huge difference, before i had no control, and i smoked like there was no tomorrow, it was an addictive habbit, now i can decide for myself, although after the weekend is over it can still be hard to resist, but it's do-able.

It's much more special, but i feel it might be better to smoke once in a month or maybe twice, the specialness is fading again, the longer the pauze, the more the entheogenic effect of cannabis will reveal itself.

I completely relate to that sentiment. In the past 6 months or so, I've begun to smoke much more regularly. With that regularity, the specialness of the experience has really diminished. It's only after I take a reasonably long break that I can have the creative and energetic sort of high that I used to always have. I haven't smoked for 2 weeks and it will be another before I can smoke again, but I think that first bowl after this short break will be really nice. I don't want to quit smoking entirely as I think cannabis has had some positive influences in my life, but I definitely need to keep it in perspective.

I used to love cannabis and smoke it all day for years without problems. But now I don't smoke at all. It drains me completely and messes up my life.
I still respect that plant but it's not for me anymore. I'm finished with it. When I quit smoking my life all came together. I feel better both physically and mentally.
When I smoke I eat shit and don't treat my body well. I get lazy and I put things off. It's hard to wake up and I'm tired all the time. I don't miss that at all. :)

I have many friends that quit smoking or are struggling with it. But they are all around 30 years old. None of them still just smokes and enjoys it.

The value of cannabis is indispensable. I know it. I have a decade-old symbiosis with that God-created, by far and by no doubt most important cultural plant of all times.
