I'm looking for a way to get a salt of thh that will leave me with crystals. I know with dmt most salts are a goo, and dmt fumarate seems to be the only reliable way to get a crystallized salt of dmt.

I've never had luck with a manske using thh before, but I might try it again. Usually the tiny bit of harmine that's left is the only thing to precipitate. Anyone with success doing a manske on thh? I'm wondering if I increase the ratio of salt tremendously if it will work. I could this by super heating the solution. Ive done this with harmine/harmaline and the alks will often times precipitate instantly, all of them.

Any ideas why thh wont precipitate in a manske? I've read some people having the same problem as me.

The general consensus is that the Manske precipitation doesn't work on THH. I think this is likely to be because of the saturated nitrogen atom in THH. Harmine and harmaline have a double bond on the nitrogen in the six-membered ring, whereas THH doesn't.

Maybe fumaric acid would work better for this?

i have taken gold hcl harmala crystals, dissolved in water, put on heat and forgot.

when i came back, some darkish brownish crystals had precipitated (ostensibly artificed by boiling)

no clue if this is thh, but if i were you, that is where i would start investigating, given that long boils are said to convert harmalas to thh

^ TLC plates would be ideal to test this theory at home.
Testing a brew at different stages of developement should give a better idea of whether or not thh is created during longer boils.
Maybe brew normally & test along the way, keeping track of what shows up on TLC plates.
Then separate the brew into portions & do a short, high temperature brew on one portion, long high temperature on the next, long simmer, then short simmer & compare changes in TLC plates from the different samples.
