Thinking about drinking caapi tea in the forest

Hi there,

Long time no see i'm not very active in posting things but read alot on this special educative forum.
(sorry if i do not spell correct my english is not at best)

I have a question to this forum, iám reading alot about ayahuasca and want to start to explore the spirit of the plants.
A while ago sam made his own DMT extracts and smoked some of this potential stuff.
He experienced a very new kind of powerful psychedelic that seems to connect directly to the inner spirit.
Now he like to go to a next level in exploring the magic of the entheogenic plants and i am very interested in the healing power of the holy Mother Ayahuasca.

I know this is a very powerful substance and have to deal with it very properly and respectful.
Now he had the idea to start with making a Banisteriopsis Caapi Yellow beverage (caapi-only).
He did research in how to cook it so he knows that part.
He liked to drink this beverage in the middle of the forest in his own to experience the power and soul of this vine.
Is this a good idea? and what is a recommended quantity to start with?
Having some more tips? i appreciate your feedback...
(Btw many thanks to all the beautiful people that are sharing their knowledge on this forum i learned alot on this gorgeous place on the web :) )

I personally love the forest. especially at night. But maybe you should first get an idea of what the experience is like. For a caapi-only brew, i would go for something around 80 grams of caapi, if it's your first time. For some people that is a heavy dose, and for some it's pretty mild, but i would say that even for people who're very sensitive to caapi, it is still a manageble dose.

For a first time, doing it at home is realy the best option.

I am going to have to second what dragonrider has said. Until you get a feel for how you respond to caapi & for the particular batch you have i would stay at home.

I reccommend if you are working with caapi, work with a large batch. A kilo being the minimum. Brew up a 50g dose to test potency of that batch. Start with half & adjust from there by feel. There have been three times now i got batches of caapi where 50g with no admixture was alot more potent than i bargained for. A Large sample size helps keep potency a known variable for a longer period of time & allows you to skip over the test dose after the first run, at least until that batch is gone.

Yeah definitely get a feel for the bigger dosage experiences. I suppose if you had a piece of property to where you would absolutely not be bothered and know the area, not to mention a possible sitter to have around just in case. But yeah, get a feel for the bigger dosages,.

With that said, smaller dosages of vine [10-15g] and hiking has always been a great time for me. Very manageable and the benefits of the vine shine through. Tastes great too.
