Troubleshooting rye colonization

Hello I have been trying and failing to grow shrooms daily for about 3 years. My last attempt consisted of soaking 2 Mason jars of rye in a weak coffee and gypsum solution for 24hours. Then boiling them for 30min straining the rye out of the water refilling the Mason jars with the rye putting my lids on loosely (my lids have a ptfe filter and self healing injection port) then pressure cooking the jars for 2 hours. I waited 24 hours before opening the pressure cooker so it didn't suck in contams with the change in pressure. When I opened it I wore gloves, a gas mask and nothing else I rubbed my whole body in rubbing alcohol sanitized he air with ozium then opened the pressure cooker. I very quickly tightened the lids (one slid off momentarily and was the one to succumb to trich) then I flamed my needle inoculated 1ml per jar labeled the jar and put it somewhere fluctuating from 65f to 75f. One grew nothing and one grew trich. My technique seemed sound but apparently it wasn't any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to comment more on what was actually in your syringes. They were most likely old, maybe even bunk in the first place. Did you make them yourself? (Not sure of the rule on sourcing talk regarding spore syringes so I'd omit that specific information were they purchased.)

Certainly were old I expected them to keep but have stored them at room temp for an estimated 6months. One was golden teacher and one was ecuadorian. I received them from a shroomery sponsor. If I must reorder (open to recommendations in the form of external links or PM if you have preferences) I am going to get some truffles to omit the indiscreet fruiting chamber from the process. I've found growing shrooms to be pretty hit and miss when it comes to colonization by mycelium. I suspect it has to do with temperature. Brown rice flour and vermiculite cakes have worked fine for me, but sometimes the mycelium just doesn't take off. I can't remember ideal temp for colonization of mycelium, but I believe it's high, like upper 80's. If I was committed to growing some mushrooms and having failure, I'd eliminate every possible place error could hide. Use fresh syringes from a highly rated vendor, allow mycelium to colonize at ideal temperatures, do a large-ish batch of jars, 12-24.

Monotubs are a lot more work, but I had astounding success inoculating rye berries and adding them to a tub of pasteurized coconut coir, horse manure, and some other stuff. Cake are definitely much easier, though.
