True E mesh convection !. and ceramic health stone ..

Update...7/17/2023

Swim trys again ... using only electric E MESH HEAT.. wattage raised from 65 watts...to 68.. watts and found it cleanly vaped over 2 thirds of the product in bowl on first hit! :thumb_up:

WOW!..using an electric E MESH mod..swim got very thick convection vapor!.nothing burnt!.. it worked super!... just by adding 3 watts to the vaporizer...

Everyone may not experiance the same performance as swim did.. ...it all depends on how much outside air is getting into your bowl...if your getting too much air into the bowl...you have to try different wattages...its trial and error untill you find the right air/heat/combo...

Again..[using ..crystals/oil/or wax]..... if you can ..seal out.. all extra outside air.. from entering the bowl...and just get air from the tiny air holes built in to mod top cap....its posible to get great convection vapor at a MUCH LOWER wattage...probibly around 35 to 40 watts...

But..Because a fair amount of extra air was still getting into the vape mixture.... Swim countered this problem by raising the wattage untill the sweet spot was found.....

this time swim was really impressed by the ..tastless..super thick... potent...convection vapor!:thumb_up:

Swim suspected these temps might too high?...but suprisingly swim found At 70 and 72 watts... every trace of product! vaporized in the bowl! ...[produced high speed convection vapor!]...and produced a superior buzz..it brought on the light of day!
NOTHING BURNT!!!:thumb_up:
so.. adjusting the temperature even higher...[to a point]... high speed application of hot air only.. convection can perform as well as ... high speed conduction...and much much cleaner without burning or waste..:thumb_up:

using ..[the glass beaker style water pipe in photos above]...and Turning up the wattage ...[ up to 72 watts] .. was quite!! effective!
dont believe Swim needs to go any hotter!

please Note ...that most portable convection vaporizers ...on the market today...are in fact hybrid!!, with only a few exceptions. That's because ... true convection ...requires transferring hot air through the chamber, and only a few portable vaporizers will not directly heat up the chamber to speed up the process.Jun 1, 2023

swim dared .. jumping from 72 watts to.. 80 watts]].. on a hunch that it might be a better vaping temp for his perticular pipe...
So swim loaded barely...10 ..0r 12mgs of light... into the glass bowl...set at 80 watts..hit fire button../counted 3-4...seconds then still holding fire button down..[[took a hit]....OMG!!:shock:
Man ..did the ..convection vapor.. turn white!...and super Thick!! [simmilar to conduction]
The vapor was almost scarey...it was so quick acting !! barely had time.. to set the pipe and mod on the table and then recline ... ... and later noticed there is still some unvaped light left in bowl!

this attempt vaporized a hole through the middle of the product..still leaving a doughnut of unvaped product left in bowl...for later..

convection is economy vaping... everything is vaped cleanly..nothing wasted or burnt.

And this vapor.... was tastless and clean..
Since this was only a test...swim did not hold in the vapor for..more than 3 seconds...Now swim knows the sweet spot for his pipe...
next time when in the right mood...set and setting ...and rue tea first...then the light...:thumb_up:

i have long wondered why there hasn't been an electronic adapter for the gvg.

when done properly, as starway7 said, its a breath of fresh air. by the time you put it down youre gone.

i suggest using the mesh pads already sold by the vapor genie company, which were better than the chore boy pads people had been suggesting here and almost surely inspired by posts on the nexus. at least its nice to think so. maybe more likely is they were copying the volcano's mesh pads.

kinda funny to be back at the point where the best option is simply using a device similar to the gvg with the emesh attached and the next step being to adapt the e-mesh to the gvg.....

if anyone has the ability to try this out, here's an idea.... heat the ceramic insert. maybe a coil could be wound around the outside? not sure how this could be done, or if it would be practical to meet the requirements of an 'upgrade' outlined here.

think using the electronic E mesh ..as a heater only.. should work well with the .. vapor Geni..

I would use two layers... [or more]..of fairly fine screen to prevent drip down of product ..instead of a thicker mesh pad...

the glass shurlock should work great! ...as long as the bowl is not metal [so it wont short out the E mesh] ..and it should be easy to get quality convection vapor!

just dont let the glowing mesh touch the product.[only hot air] does the trick!.:thumb_up:

....In photos below.... i tryed raising the wattage in my origional convection vape ...in past..I never went much higher than 55 watts,,, but found 70 and 75 watts on my older origional vape pulls thick thick! .. .convection vapor... so fast!:thumb_up:
Its very close to the speed of the origional conduction E Mesh vape of the past!
only you get convection vapor!:thumb_up:

I dont think any fancy electronic product on the market.. can beat this vaporizer for performance....when using... crystals/ waxes/ or oils!
it gives [true convection vapor]...
when wattage is set right..it pulls..a giant cloud... . of thick convection vapor very fast... and thats using pure product only ... [no cloud boosting e juice used] .. ..[just pure crystal]
..no messing around with hybred heating chambers..and little spinning balls..

I found these pictures below ..[on line] ..of ...product stored as a tincture for months.. after the alcohol has been fan evaporated away..

It reads...After the grain alcohol has been removed...it left an amber semi clear glaze .. that after 12 hours of drying more... you see the crystals popping up everywhere... and this will continue to happen until the whole area of the glaze is covered with crystals...

some oxadation happened from long storage in tincture at room temperature...

I guess someone wanted to be able to weigh the product more correctly instead of counting drops of tincture and guessing at the weight...

first one with dish upside down...the second photo dish is upright...

the crystals are actually above the surface of the glaze and in 3rd picture down ..you see how they reflect the bright flash of a camera very well ....like diamonds!!...

in pictures 5 and 6 further drying has almost covered the whole area with over laping crystal patterns...they are taking on a golden color...

It reads..Once nice and dry...with all the alcohol gone...it smells clean...and it maintains an easy to scrape up waxy structure easy to pick up and weigh dosage...

remember this ..product has been desolved in grain alcohol.. and stored for months ..only to be

reborn as crystals again .... by... removing the grain alcohol...

NEW vape TESTING using a ceramic health stone ........pictures coming later !!:thumb_up:

AS The chapter reads about a new test using ...ceramic vape disc!

Swim tryed another new heating route and tryed using ...ceramic stone.. to heat waxy crystals...

This time swim used a ...ceramic heating disc as heater ... and heated the disc with a blue butane flame..then compleatly removed the lighter.... and took a hit.. using the heat stored in the ceramic disc...it vaporized the product extreemly cleanly!

using glass water pipe in photo below..Swim placed the disc on top of glass bowl after shaping the sides of the disc [with file] to fit half way down into the bowl sitting almost.... a half inch!!... above the product!.. then heated the disc with butane lighter about 30 seconds..

The disc was heated once more for about 30 seconds..then swim took a long slow hit..swim noticed a purity never before experianced and gentle but strong product effect...

Swim knew air would not go through the disc... but it was pulled in around the outside edges of the disc.. and the vapor taste ...was super clean!! different than ever experianced before..it was super light and the effects were surprisingly STRONG!!

The vapor experianced was the cleanest swim ever experianced...

The potency from ...only...[ 7 or less miligrams!]... of product.. felt more like 25 mgs of product..it was so potent it was almost scarey!

When swim felt the fast effects .. they were surprizingly strong!... but gentle ..swim almost didnt make it to the couch as he felt he was floating away..

This was...7 or less mgs...of pure product only //no rue used...

Had 20 or 30 mgs been used it might have been a breakthrough.../

Swim thought those waxy crystals were not that pure.

....now after vaping them with the ceramic disc ..they seemed VERY PURE!:shock:

Swim found that the the ceramic disc has the ability to heat up very fast and store a lot of clean heat! ..as a test...using a wireless thermomiter 25 seconds of heating with a butane lighter brought the temperature of the disc from room temp 70 degrees...up to near 400 degrees and it held the temperature longer than other materials ...like many metals...

CAUTION!...Anyone who tryes to use a ceramic vape disc to vape ..crystals/waxes/or oils... would be smart to LOWER!!..their dosages!!... down to 10 mgs or less... on first try... or ..for some.. the intensity might be higher than expected!

The vapor purity from vaping using this ceramic material... seems surprisingly STRONG!!

I didnt really expect such a strong effect 7 or less mgs ...im still reeling from the surprise!

It seemed the clean hot air from the ceramic may be more gentle on the molecule and it wastes nothing!!

Ceramic discs used for vaping are not exactly new...but i think most used the ceramic discs [in past].. more in a conduction way..im using it for convection vaping....

Finding the ceramic discs ability to heat up fast and hold clean heat exceptional..it may even be possibile to vaporize herbs...this idea..needs to be tested...

i had the ceramic as high as 612 degrees at one point after about 25 seconds holding lighter on disc..Far more heat than is needed to vape most products !

Im finding it is very effective for convection vaping...photos comming....

This is how i make the copper tubbing ..[fit as tight fitting as possible] to the RDA cap without damaging the cap.. without using other methods involving more work like ...using screws ..drilling.ECT...more work than most want to do...

First photos show how to clean and smooth .. inside and out..by using a small peice of chore boy stainless scrubber and needle nose plyers..

I plan to make the tubbing fit tighter by simply .[[expanding inside end of tubbing] ..

[tip]..of the tubbing]] [less than 1/4 inch in..]

[on the inside of tubbing].. [with round smooth blunt punch]..
[expand tubbing just a .. TINY!.. amount]!!

so one end the tubbing can be started in by twisting by hand..

[ be carefull.. .... tap it GENTLY with round smooth punch!!.. a few times and... expand the tubbing just a/ ...TINY AMOUNT!!!:?: thats all you will need to make the tubbing fit tight..

[[then gently tapping the expanded end of tubbing in place]]..[DONT expand very much!!.. just a

tiny amount of even expansion will do!..give a couple gentle taps with the punch will do// with a

blunt round punch..

So when gently evenly tapping in the tubing.. once it hits the expanded end of the tubbing it should compress to a very tight fit..

Then pick up the peice and look at it.. and make shure the tubbing is as verticly straight as

possible with the end cap..

....[to remove tubbing from cap.. put on block and tap downward from the top.. ]

if the copper tubbing is cleaned and smooth on outside .. it should compress the rubber O ring without tearing it..

Note..[different top RDA caps might have a tiny difference in how the tubbing fits]!..
..So some may not need this method used at all!... and will tap into cap tight enough!...

But [other RDA caps may not fit so tightly]

So.. the ...[3/8 size tubbing].. may fit a tiny bit looser in some caps..

and other caps... may require the copper tubbing to be [slightly! expanded.. [on inside end of tubbing].. to fit tight like one solid peice!

This new method involves using ..[a partial wad of].. ..a liquid wet pad ] and making it fit into the inner top of the [RDA cap]] and using a normal strip of ss316 mesh as a heater just below the pad....

You can mold it with plyers or your fingers ... then press the [stainless pad] ....
[or stainless or copper chore boy high up as possible inside the RDA cap..a little above the hot E mesh strip.. [it shows where in photos below]

In this method.. you use the E Mesh.. [[only as a Heater]..for the above pad containing the product...

when you take a long slow draw you cause the hot air to flow through the product pad carrying vapor with it..[mostly convection vapor i hope]

for this to work so most of the vapor is vaporized at once..you must test different heat settings till you find the one that works best for convection vapor..

Most RDAs have limited space under the cap...[ but atleast 1/16th of an inch].. clearence would be ok..between the HOT E mesh..and the pad above it containing the product should work fine...

Even if the pad is lightly touching the E mesh..it should still work....

I tested this set up twice tonight and it works without burning the product .if you install it right...
One very nice improvement is ..that you can load your product with a dab spoon through the very top ..then tap the power button a couple times..[making it just hot enough] to melt it in ...

In my test today not having any freebase product..i used my .. material tincture.. with a dropper and loaded the holding pad...again i only used about 5 drops of tincture equaling a posible 10 to 15 mgs of material...[thats not a high dose at all!]

after giving the pad holding the tincture time enough to alow the alcohol to evaporate...a couple hours...

I th en truyed vaping it and.. [using wattage mode only].. I set it to 20 watts a setting that always produced decent white vapor very quickly..although some of it ocasionally burned...

Well the 20 watt setting didnt apeare to vaporize anything?

So i set it to ..25 ..watts...then 30 watts..then i hit 35 watts.. took a hit!... saw very little vapor almost invisable!.....but something hit me like a ton of bricks...i was thrown at 35 watts into a strong trip...for about 35 minutes..

I was thinking what the shit happened!

At first i thought i vaped it all..but after looking through the [RDA cap in the light].. i could still se un vaped spice!

Well i put the vape back together and set it to 40watts! and hit the button..and to my surprise a ton of vapor came out! ..but because of my realing head from the first test.. ..i didnt hold in the vapor...
but.. really!/... 40 watts is kind of high!....[i would try a 25 to 35 watt range.]

I think because im ..[vaping product using hot air only] above the heating mesh...it naturally took more power to reach a vapor producing temperature!

I do believe this method works fairly well once you find the right vapor producing wattage setting!

I think not having the spice directly on the heating mesh.. may prevent burning...i mean the ..material pad.. is very close..almost touching the E Mesh...but if you take a slow long pull with the button down it should vaporize from the hot air riseing above and into and through the product pad .. and taking the pull causing an upward draft .. preventing very.. little if any?.. dripping of product onto the hot mesh below...

If a little tiny bit did drip d own no big deal...it has the advantage of easy loading of product..and it is producing a hot air convection vapor that is very strong...:thumb_up:

This new method is in an early stage...but ive seen reasonable proof it works without burning spice if you put it together right and set on the proper heat setting ..

I think this is a much more efective method ..so disregard my last attempt to use a pad directly on the heating mesh...

The heating is better this time.. because im using the SS316 mesh! ..as a heater for the product pad above............ [not the thicker pipe screen in older post]

i think i should have used a thicker product pad ..maybe a lower wattage would have worke?..

if .. material pad.. is too thin ..too much heat can pass through too fast requiring a higher wattage!:thumb_up:

also using a thicker or thinner product pad has an effect on the amount of heat needed to get to vaporizing temperature....it takes testing..

Well, i was trying to illustrate microphonics but sending 140 Watts into an e-Mesh wrapped around a puck of SiC Foam should allow temporary energizing of the later, possibly lasting long enough to effectively implement a nearly metal-free conductive/radiative to convective converter (once power is removed), IMO capable of satisfying even purists. Perhaps sufficiently large heat storage might help compensate for an SiC puck only turning dim-red instead of glowing(?).

Somehow batteries on high stress would render me nervous, if i were into spices...

Not for me. It seemed like a few more Watts might prove handy, someday, when you need them finally.

The melting temperature of eutectic solder is ~183 °C as i recall, which fits the target range, tough a soldering handgun would actually deliver POWER. So if it's enough to melt SnPb alloys, euh...

Swim tryed another new heating route and tryed using ...ceramic stone.. to heat waxy crystals...

This time swim used a ...ceramic heating disc as heater ... and heated the disc with a blue butane flame..then compleatly removed the lighter.... and took a hit.. using the heat stored in the ceramic disc...it vaporized the product extreemly cleanly!

using glass water pipe in photo below..Swim placed the disc on top of glass bowl after shaping the sides of the disc [with file] to fit half way down into the bowl sitting almost.... a half inch!!... above the product!.. then heated the disc with butane lighter about 30 seconds..

The disc was heated once more for about 30 seconds..then swim took a long slow hit..swim noticed a purity never before experianced and gentle but strong product effect...

Swim knew air would not go through the disc... but it was pulled in around the outside edges of the disc.. and the vapor taste ...was super clean!! different than ever experianced before..it was super light and the effects were surprisingly STRONG!!

The vapor experianced was the cleanest swim ever experianced...

The potency from ...only...[ 7 or less miligrams!]... of product.. felt more like 25 mgs of product..it was so potent it was almost scarey!

When swim felt the fast effects .. they were surprizingly strong!... but gentle ..swim almost didnt make it to the couch as he felt he was floating away..

This was...7 or less mgs...of pure product only //no rue used...

Had 20 or 30 mgs been used it might have been a breakthrough.../

Swim thought those waxy crystals were not that pure. ....now after vaping them with the ceramic disc ..they seemed VERY PURE!:shock:

Swim found that the the ceramic disc has the ability to heat up very fast and store a lot of clean heat! ..as a test...using a wireless thermomiter 25 seconds of heating with a butane lighter brought the temperature of the disc from room temp 70 degrees...up to near 400 degrees and it held the temperature longer than other materials ...like many metals...

CAUTION!...Anyone who tryes to use a ceramic vape disc to vape ..crystals/waxes/or oils... would be smart to LOWER!!..their dosages!!... down to 10 mgs or less... on first try... or ..for some.. the intensity might be higher than expected!

The vapor purity from vaping using this ceramic material... seems surprisingly STRONG!!

I didnt really expect such a strong effect 7 or less mgs ...im still reeling from the surprise!

It seemed the clean hot air from the ceramic may be more gentle on the molecule and it wastes nothing!!

Ceramic discs used for vaping are not exactly new...but i think most used the ceramic discs [in past].. more in a conduction way..im using it for convection vaping....

Finding the ceramic discs ability to heat up fast and hold clean heat exceptional..it may even be possibile to vaporize herbs...this idea..needs to be tested...

i had the ceramic as high as 612 degrees at one point after about 25 seconds holding lighter on disc..Far more heat than is needed to vape most products !

Im finding it is very effective for convection vaping...photos comming....

not saying this healthstone is that much better than ..[E Mesh convection].. ..but was really impressed at how .. STRONG!... the effect was!..on half the normal dose .. using the disc .and how light and tastless it was...

In their video... they are using the stone in a [conduction] way...melting the butter on top of the hot stone..

The only difference...was,,I used the stone in a [convection] way.. and i suspect that the convection method produces superior results...only the heat from the stone sitting 1/2 inch above the product...was pulled through the product!..product never touched the hot stone or flame!...:thumb_up:

I think Leo was talking about 5meo dmt that works on lower doses...if NN DMT is used it may need a larger dose to work this way...

It's possible i fail to understand the illustrations but it seems to me over half the energy gets wasted by leaking into open space, so perhaps the precious heat should be contained to double battery autonomy or so, and i think all the materials now exist, like SiC Foam, zirconia beads and nichrome or SS420 heater/susceptor elements. The SiC or Ceramic Health Stone is where temporary energy storage occurs before it's converted as a mainly convective source. The red part is your heater element and the circles around it stand for 2.5 mm zirconia beads contained inside a 2 mm thick glass tube... So, fresh air would have to enter the beads matrix from the middle section, pass through and collect at the center top and reverse direction to add with radiative/conductive heat being stored inside the ceramic foam air pockets, ready to flood a bowl within some reasonable delay after pre-heating is complete.

At least that way your energy ain't lost anymore: it's recuperated instead, while also creating a potential protective shield as a bonus.
