Hey guys, just wanted to know some information of separatory funnels, like which one will suit best, and different valvue sizes/stopcock etc. I will be using it mainly with xylene and hcl.

Here are a few that are available for me:
I'm willing to pay whatever, but not sure what will suit. I have done some research already, but not exactly sure.

1# "Presented here is a borosilicate 1000 mL conical, separatory funnel with a 27 / 22 ground glass stopper, a 4 mm tapered ground glass stopcock and a 67 mm stem"

2# "Offered here is a borosilicate 500 mL conical, separatory funnel with a 24/33 ground glass stopper, a 3 mm teflon stopcock and a 66 mm stem. Teflon stopcocks never require grease and they will not freeze or bind"

3# "500mL 24/40 Separatory (Addition) Funnel with glass stopper and PTFE plug
Pear shaped, 24/40 joints on top and bottom
PTFE (Teflon) stopcock"

That is just a few, and i know there is also polyethylene separator, are they any good?

Thanks to anyone who can help with some suggestions and experience 😁

Get a 1l one. Dont get anything with PE, since some solvents may be incompatible with that. Get borosilicate glass funnel with a PTFE stopcock. But most importantly, make sure the stopcock is the type that spins endlessly instead of the ones like a tap that you can screw tightly to close.

So this kind

NOT this kind

I say this because you the second type, you may try to force it properly closed and the glass breaks (I say this from experience, was NOT nice to have the separatory funnel break in the middle of an extraction). The first type, if the stopcock is in vertical position the flow is open, if its horizontal it's closed, and you can just keep spinning it endlessly, it doesn't force the funnel glass.
