Hey,

Getting tired of ordering NaOH off of ebay, any suggestions on where I can physically get NaOH in the UK ?

Saw it in boots 98 % pure online, anyone tried this ?

Yeah same thing I know I can probably get it from somewhere, just seeing if anyone knows where exactly.

I've only ever used lab grade NaOH, you use caustic soda from a hardware store or something EW ?

Yeah .. Sure do mate , it should be fairly easy to find as you fellas use similar cleaning products to us down under .....

Yeah I'll go find some tomorrow in a hardware store.

I was reading your 100 g ACRB tek a couple of days ago, I use MHRB - would your tek be any different from Cyb's if I used MHRB ?

Your product looks great by the way

Doesn't need to be lab grade bro, 98% will work mint. I think mine was 98-99%

Is the mini A/B totally pointless with MHRB ?

Yes as concombres said it'll clean any extraction up and I combine all 5 pulls back to back then do one or two pulls to see what's left behind and I usually do not do freeze precipes anymore , but you must have quality mature root bark to do so .. let us know of you're results JustCurious ..,

Can hydroponic ph Up and Down be used if needed ?
It depends what they're made of. If you've already got them and can't/won't go to a nearby shop and buy caustic soda for well under a fiver...

To substitute caustic soda, you'd need to use the pH up, of course.

Seems like a waste of money to me.

Hydroponic pH up is likely potassium carbonate (K2CO3).
Swimming pool pH up is usually sodium carbonate (Na2CO3).

Lye (NaOH) is far too caustic for those purposes.

In my country, lye prills are sold in 500 gram bottles in all the hardware stores. Supermarkets here sell either liquid crap with useless additives or lye prills that are mixed with aluminium and nitrate. Avoid those.

Wilkinson also had NaOH last time I looked.

I ended up getting the Wilkinson's one for £2 as it was the only shop I found with it, I went to boots and I couldn't find it.

Have you used this ?

I found an MSDS online which says 90-100 % which is hardly convincing and the bottle itself has no ingredients list; it only mentions 'Hazardous Substances - NaOH'.

It should be okay I think...
