hi….
SWIM called me he is doing an extraction on Watchas TEK and noticed, after the the first pull, he ran out of the Naphtha he used (Zippo Lighter Fuel..) as he wants to go on, and do the last 3 pulls, the only available Solvent he has ist some Flamax Lampoil. :Paraffin (Erdöl) CAS: 64771-72-8
EINECS: 265-233-4

here is a link to the msds..

as he wants to combine the Pulls later for doing some wahes , he asked if he can use it for any further pulls????

a soon reply would be appreciate it, as he needs to get the pulls done tonight….

cheers and thanks

this is clean according to the msds, it should evap clean. also structurally it is also a mix of hydrocarbons, which means its a non polar soluble in zippo fluid.
also wikipedia says that it has a low melting temperature, similar to petroleum distilates.i would give this a go but i would evap it separately just to be sure.

Thats be awesome if that might work… cost me 1.50 Euro /1l at every supermarket…
zippo is aroud 3 Euro for 125 ml..

and i started using zippo, because i read this would work great, which it does for me, but i have no idea about msds or melting ponts etc. yet… at least it evapped, if even slowly, without any residuals, which gives me hope…

maybe you think i should try a small extraction trying this Solvent for testing?? might be wort??

Yes this stuff should work fine. It appears to be a mixture of alkanes, or hydrocarbons. Basically a bunch of nonpolar shit that should work as a solvent. Be sure to splash a little on a table surface and look for any residue. If there is no residue it is fine.
