Use distilled water to remove the sodium hydroxide solution or sodium hydroxide from the dmt crystals.

I am producing dmt. I think that sodium hydroxide solution has gotten mixed in. I have already put it in the freezer to crystallize it. Is there any way to clean it?
So I thought, if I put the crystals that have crystallized in the freezer in distilled water and shake them, then only the sodium hydroxide solution or sodium hydroxide will dissolve, and I thought
that it would be possible to clean it well. In other words, if I put the crystals in distilled water and shake them, will it be possible to clean them well by only the dmt not dissolving?

yup
pretty much. DMT is almost insoluble in water, especially if its cold water. sodium hydroxide on the other hand has no issue grabbing onto water. But the fact its crystalizing well at all probably means there probably isnt enough to worry about in there. you would have seen though if there was hydroxide solution in your naptha. its not dissolved, it would literally be like, little rolling droplets.

Keep in mind though that it wont take much water at all to remove traces of lye from the crystals. shaking will make a mess you could pretty much just wet them, stir, load into a filter, then, if its like 1-5 grams or something, flush with about 2x20ml of cold distilled water. frankly you could also just let it sit in the fridge overnight, then decant, then rinse and youd be done.
FYI, next time, if this was from an A/B tek, you can use sodium carbonate instead of hydroxide
