What type of filter set up do you have? Patience typically will pay dividends since those fine particulates won't filter easily. Decanting away from as much sediment as possible will allow you to get the bulk of the solution through without clogging or overly-fine particles passing through a coarser filter.Should i filter the IPA or just wait like an hour ?
Practically invisible residues of grease or detergent can indeed lead to false positives on an evap test, although it could equally be the case that your vinegar wash was also successful.I ended up with the goo you see in the picture. Later on i might try some to check if there is anything in it.
To the not so clean naphtha chapter now. I post it here and i hope any one who has same issues can try the same. After following the advices of others. I took my lighter fluid and put it in a jar with a distilled water and vinegar solution. Not exact measurements were taken. After 24 hours and making about 3-4 shakes in these hours and letting separate now the vap test comes out completely clean. I also cleaned the glass at which a make the test with soap and then distilled water in order to remove everything. Now to my surprise its crystal clean. I dont know if the issue was the lighter fluid or the glass. But now i have for sure some ready to use naphtha and will also try the lye naphtha tek. Will keep updating.
You can prevent that by using a pinch of sodium carbonate in the wash water.Unfortunately i read that with this method spice gets washed out?
Looks like the naphtha may have cooled down and started to precipitate something. Some will have evaporated too. This could be considered a good sign. You used a huge amount of water for the wash. You can add a dash (i.e. small/tiny amount) of base to it in case any DMT has dissolved in it. Don't drop solids through the naphtha, use a concentrated solution. Why it got cloudy?
