VG VaporGenie: How to use, where to get, advantages, etc

Migrated topic.
thanks for your reply.

i was more interested in the bat due to it being cheaper and also i thought it looked nicer, but there's no way that matters compared to having the best possible device so i will go will the sherlock for sure.

Yeah that's what most think. About saving some cash... However, it would get more expensive as after one buys the bat, one HAS to get the sherlock...
Make sure to get some copper mesh as a screen for the GVG, if you smoke spice, not changa from it.

they sell stainless steel mesh screens on the website, would this be sufficient?

I haven't seen them. Or do you mean normal stainless screens? You won't need those(Except maybe one under the mesh)

You will need scrubbers, such as chore boy copper scrubbers(google), it's kind of a ribbon, not round wire. It's ideal.

i see i see. thanks very much for this advice. i will put it to good use when i get round to ordering everything. i do not need it asap, but the sooner i get it the better, just in case the right opportunity arises.

thanks again.

When you have your tools, feel free to ask me more... There are some details such as vaporization temperature, mesh size, cleaning it with acetone from possible factory oils etc.

many thanks. from reading this whole thread i get a pretty good idea already, apart from not realising the stainless steel screens are different from the mesh screens many people in this thread are saying to use, which i will definitely take advantage of.
if i do have questions down the track i will ask, but most of the information needed seems to be here already, so i should be fine.

exciting times ahead.

I haven't traveled into hyperspace yet, mostly because i still live with my parents, but i was wondering wouldnt it be better to get the original vapor genie instead of the glass, for the fact if its dropped it wont shatter or break as easily?

just food for thought.

hello again,

i've been searching for either copper or stainless steel mesh screens and i cant seem to find any here in australia, i was wondering if anyone here knows how to get any in australia or if anybody knows anybody who would know.

i'm trying to avoid shipping costs from USA if i can.

thanks for your time.

Use a stainless steel / copper scrubber and make a mesh... Something like this will do nicely, you must have them in supermarkets / home care stores, no?

yeah we have those ribbon ones, if they are ok to use then i will use them, just from reading this thread i thought perhaps the wire mesh ones were needed (ie chore boy copper scrubber).

thanks for the reply and also i think your avatar is very cool.

Yeah stainless ribbon will be fine, just make sure you either clean it with acetone or similar, or heat the mesh with a lighter to clean / burn off any oils left over from the manufacturing process...

Cheers, it's called 'The Virgin' and the artist is called Dean Fleming, it struck me as very DMT-esque when I saw it, impossible, beautiful and weird :p

Here's another good 'un, I seem to get a lot of mouths in hyperspace as well, so I find this kind of work very reminiscent:

And... Just... WTF?!

Yes... If you have finger in the middle of your palm.

Wow!!! The Fleming pic is nearly exactly what I saw the other night, but more rectangular, its the grin the entity had, just blew me apart, dived in and out of my energy jumping around to the music I had on... fab!

Great pics! love them, too, especially the first one. gonna look for more art of this artist.

To the steel mesh:

One uses here the steel meshes of the volcano vaporizer. its called liquid pack, and its found as a upgrade for the volcano vap. one cut his mesh, could form it like this beautifully, and make it suitable for the gvg for a perfect fit.

why one uses a volcano mesh? its not as cheap as a kitchen mesh (though neither very expensive),
but its very fine in its structure, so holds really well the goods, as one thinks.
and - its of 'food grade quality' if one can label it that was, due to its made for consumption isses with a vaporizer.
no oils or stuff in it. one likes that and feels safer that way.

Tried volcano liquid pad and it was a failure with GVG. It leaked. Most likely due to the round wires that don't hold liquid well. But some people have made it work.

nice to know that. so far i didnt try so many others in the gvg, and for me that one worked pleasant.
i untied and cut the whole thing, tohen rearranged it, and put it with gentle pressure for density into the gvg, that it formed a little bowl. that prevents that loads fall in between the mesh and the glass, what used to happen before, where they got stuck and seemingly not reached by heat that good.
which alternative do you use? there might be better ones im not aware of.

Copper mesh is perfect. You can get it on ebay if you can't get it locally. Some use stainless steel mesh, but in my experience it gave off metallic taste(some others have no taste). At ebay it's "chore boy copper" in search function.
