anything thin, toothpick, needle, tip of a thin knife.. Try to pull it by the sides of the screen and not the middle so you dont accidentaly make a larger hole..
Thanks a lot, I did a hole, but I think it will be ok.

Hey nexus!

my GVG arrived the other day, late due to a postal strike here in canada, and I got a chance to use it last night.

First mistake, I grossly underestimated how hot those arc lighters are, and discovered the flame must be held several inches away from the gvg.
I recall some people saying you couldn't burn spice even if you tried with the gvg, in my case that is simply untrue lol.

But wow, what a piece of work this pipe is, very pleased and looks great. but I still need a lot of practice :p

thanks nexus for recommending this beast!

So I made myself a small DMT vapor pad out of some copper wire (solid 12-14 guage) and a copper chore boy.

I used the solid wire to make a circle thats a little smaller than the filter in the GVG. I put a small amount of the cooper ribbon inside the circle. Then I took about 12-16 inches of copper ribbon from the chore boy and started to weave it around the solid wire.

I continued to weave until most of the gaps were filled. Then I torched it for a good miniute or two (burn off any oils etc). Now I have a woven copper disk that barely touches the glass. Just heat it up slightly and pour your DMT on it. Put the stopper back on and vap away.

It was a fun project and is a bit prettier that just pressing the chore-boy ribbon into a disk.

Can you post some pics? Maybe make another and photograph the steps? Your description sounds intriguing and may be an impeovement on Gibran 2's method.

Cheers,

Hey! Who says my patented "GVG metal ribbon disc" isn't pretty? 😉

Post a photo and share! Also, welcome to the Nexus.

I picked up the GVG "Sherlock" today to use for my first DMT experience shortly. It was almost $150 CAN but, based on the feedback on this forum, it seems the best option.

It most definitely is in my opinion. Get a good lighter. Don't skimp :D

hey guys, how to you clean spice remains from your pipes, wether glass vapor genie or reg vapor genie? when I clean my marihuana pipes I do it with a solution of alcohol and rock salt. but i dont know if this works for spice remains also.

With a classic VG, it's kinda hard to clean it because any solvents will tarnish the finish. So a pipe cleaner is really your best bet or to boil it.

With the glass VG, I use a little bit (~5-10ml) of methanol but IPA or acetone would work as well. I pour it in and just lightly work the alcohol over the spice. It usually dissolves in a few seconds and then I pour it into a shotglass to evap and add to changa later.

Sometimes I'll have to do a couple of pulls to get everything but as long as it's just spice and not weed then it usually dissolves really quick.

When I smoke weed out of the GVG, I do the same thing so I can keep the vaporized resin. It's not much but I always use the same shot glass to collect it each time and it eventually adds up to something you can smoke.

Like MC said, with the regular vapor genie, boil it in water. But add some vinegar or fumaric acid to the water, so the dmt will salt again. Then you can evaporate it and freebase again.

what is that you call "screen"? do this screens come with the GVG?
it comes with 3 screens but you can and should order a 10 pack from vapor geanie. also i HIGHLY recommend the hard shell case for an extra 20 bucks. its sweet and holds everything you need in a custom fit soft inside. trust me everyone of my friends who see's mine kicks themselves for not forking out the extra 20 bucks.

you can get 10 screens in there easily but with the copper chorboy wad like gibrans pic shows you dont need near that many. i use 6 but i think gibran stated he uses one.

here is a pic of my awesome set up in the hard case. its the bomb. even has a smell proof zipper pouch. i store extra screens and another copper mesh wad in there.

I think you have just convinced me to buy one of those hard cases! I especially like the baggy of things located on the right side of the case. Deffinetly prepared for a journey there. In other discussion, I too use only one screen with a choreboy pad on top however, my torch lighter really sucks and goes out when you tip it up. For the time being untill I get a good torch, I have been and will continue to use my bic lighter with out the charcoal filter piece in the top of my gvg. I simply hold the lighter just close enough to have the flame go into the gvg neck about an eighth of an inch in. 1,2,3 blast off every time.. Sometimes in only 1 or 2..
