Virola Resin?

Migrated topic.

This seems like a very interesting plant, maybe containing both tryptamines, and maoi's. What do you know about it? What are the potential uses? What are some experiences from it? Ways to extract/prepare the alkaloids? Alkaloid contents? Found this, and i am interested i am going to buy some to experiment with just want to here other people's information. thank you.

there are some suppliers out there selling good quality stuff that has 5MEODMT in it that is attractive to some...

SWIM has virola resin and uses it sublingually for it's 5-MeO-DMT effects. It's very nice. Its a cheap source of natural 5-MeO-DMT that can be used sublingually and orally as is without any processing.

if i were to use this product, should i worry about those possible maoi's (i eat tons of meat, etc) i don't have experience with maoi's.

seriously ron ? swim has access to a v.surinamensis tree and its resin. perhaps swim should try this - he tasted the resin and it is very very vvery bitter - how much resin is used ?

I don't know how much fresh resin to use. SWIM only has dried resin he got from Europe. For dried resin, 500-1000 mg orally is the low end dose. When used sublingually about 200-700 mg is the low end dose.

Virola bark is reported to contain:

DMT 0.130%
5-Meo-DMT 0.110%
6-MeO-THC (2-methyl- 6-methoxy-l,2,3,4-tetrahydro ß-carboline) 0.010%
N-Methyltryptamine (MMT) 0.003%

Now those figures are for virola bark with the inner glossy resin still intact. The glossy material in the inner bark is dried resin. Most vendors sell bark that has had all the inner glossy resin removed (you can usually see the scratch marks) by the natives who use it for themselves, which means the bark you buy on-line is pretty much useless. You need to buy dried resin if you want anything worth while.

Virola does contain an MAOI, it’s 6-MeO-THC. It’s probably a RIMA like most oher ß-carbolines. RIMAs are a lot safer than a normal MAOI. Normal MAOIs require special dietary restrictions, RIMAs do not.

how does one hold almost a gram of severly bitter bark under their tongue for a time ? or is it put all around the mucous membranes in the mouth ?

SWIM holds it hard under his tongue, and slowly sucks on it so that the mouth isn’t filled with saliva. You don’t want your mouth to be filled with saliva or the saliva will dilute it too much and it will be ineffective. It takes some practice.

It tastes sort of like cinnamon or nutmeg to SWIM. It’s not that bitter.

It doesn't work with bark. Use only the dried resin from the bark.
