visuals changing as you continue to use

Rising Star
my first 5-10 mushroom trips involved melting visuals. now i never see melting of anything. has anyone ever experienced this or otherwise the types of visuals changing as you continue to use psilocybin or any other substance for that matter?

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. I have been doing shrooms for 2 years now, and I have noticed a definite progression in visuals, as well as the nature of the trip.

The best(most intense and intricate) visuals I ever had were the first ones I ever had. Since then ~8yrs ago, I still get them but they arent as good. Maybe it was a novelty thing(no pun intended)

As for their nature...I usually only pay attention to the CEVs and those seem fairly consistent, although none are the same as any other.

I don't know if what I experience in changing visual style of journeys (across all psychedelics, not just mushrooms), maybe I would call them chapters. Sometimes I have many journeys that are hyper-real, other times they will be otherworldly, other times they will be abstract. I seem to have a series on a theme that then recedes and then a different style or theme will appear. Themes sometimes come back again, sometimes they are one-offs in my own experiences.

With DMT I find I meet entities that fit very much into the same concept over an extended time, which then don't reappear again, or if they do they come back some time later. For instance a while back every journey over several months I came into contact with beings that I would call place swappers (they play some kind of odd game of tag that involves them swapping their place in reality for yours) visually they displayed huge variation but conceptually they were pretty much the same. While these characters were in every journey I made for several months I haven't met them in maybe a couple of years now.

Or maybe your body is slowly "learning" to react to it.Or to neutralize it's effects, reacting differently.

Obviously no one should take mushrooms every day, we know that so why should it be any different on a longer term. It's slower more subtle but maybe your body is building a tolerance and it somehow affects the visuals differently.

good answer

Interesting thread , personally since starting out with fungus a few years ago my experiences and visuals have only gotten stronger everytime I use them (I do however only use mushrooms a few times a year).Fresh mushrooms also seem to have much sharper visuals and dry is more dreamy blurry.
