What career do you have?

Though I am still new here, I have been swimming along this vast cosmos of information and am very curious to know what type of careers the people who post here have. I am just amazed by the diversity of open people and I find this forum very healing itself.

It was only recently I realised how speaking to someone you trust can really heal you alot, I see so much honesty here and it is beautiful.

This thought kind of led on to me wondering who I am speaking to? I find the intellect here is amazing, the teks, ideas, beliefs systems, this cant be a crack house type bunch for sure! :lol:

So what kind of work do you do or are involved in?

I am still figuring it out, I work 2 days a week in a warehouse, some days I am an iPhone technician, sometimes a witch doctor, a creative actually the creative side of me is something quite new.

I have alot of hobbies and get the odd job here and there but in all honesty, I have no idea what to do with my life and I dont really care, I am on a journey of inner freedom and this is my lifes plan.

Obviously I dont expect you to be 100% specific but even the industry maybe if thats not too personal.

Paint cars as of right now. Pays the bills. Did some college back in the day. Might go back later on down the line. Who knows what'll happen.

Working on getting my degree in a few months..not sure what i'll be doing after that but i might be able to get this computer tech job, although i dont plan on making a career out of that. Right now i just get payed to play videogames with kids a few hours a week...lol

I teach foreign children English and its the most amazing job ever, sometimes I catch myself thinking Im getting paid for being an idiot with these glorious children its the best job ive ever had. Before I worked with people with mental health issues so kinda similar but this is so much better. I teach adults too but they're nervous and reserved unlike the kids and I can get away with being a complete idiot and im getting paid to have fun its unbeleivable so hilarious just laughing most of the time.

Im sure the novelty will wear off but as it stands I work 20-25 hours a week and the rest of the time I can make music, my real work in life :thumb_up:

I've done tattoos for 25 years. There are a fair number of psychedelic people in this industry and I am able to be quite open about where I get my visions.

I also publish and distribute educational material for tattooists. A natural outgrowth of being immersed in this industry for so long.

Guyomech, your art is appreciated, I wish I had more material needs in order to purchase one.

I do sense a somewhat laid back attitude generally, at 27 years old and 13 jobs later, the best plan is not to have one, nothing ever goes to plan. I wish all well in their dreams, focus, focus focus. :thumb_up:

I'm a set painter in hollywood. We do anything that needs to be painted. It's a pretty good job for making fast cash, no questions asked. You can come and go as you please as it's project driven, no steady work. Also it keeps your chops up as an artists since we have to copy everything under the sun and make perfect replicas of rusted steel, marble, all kinds of woods, linoleum etc... and then the rare but more fun murals or oil painting copies. the only down side is usually temporary and just thrown in the trash right after it's done. the amount of waste in hollywood is very depressing and also it's only for usually dumb movies/tv shows. every once and while we work on something inspiring but those are the exceptions as i'm sure you know by what you see

I'm going to ecuador and really excited to meet people that are not driven by ego and flash like they are here in hollywood. I'm hoping to make a transition to a more meaningful kind of work. Not sure what. I"m trained in construction, gardening, and many arts including being a professional musician for some years... so anything is possible!

Sounds really interesting, just follow the shamanic heart beat within. I find that now, I dont worry at all, the things I wish for usually somehow as if by magic find me. With friends and work colleagues as you describe, your heart must be in the right place. :thumb_up:

Los Angeles sounds and looks stunning, better than the concrete jungle they call the city of London. I have a freedom and travelling destiny that needs to be quenched, I have only ever been 1 other country in my entire life :want:

It can feel lonely, robotic and quite a cold place at times, people are very stiff here. I find peace in hiking and walks with a good friend of mine, we both have our survival bags and sometimes hike for up to 12 hours, learning about foliage, nature and down to earth stuff. It helps me stay centred and is an escape from the norm. Keep seeking peace within, as the saying goes, anything but Love is just an illusion. :roll:

I understand, I too was working 2 jobs at one point, never again unless it is for something of my own. A good friend of mine is a personal...I mean spiritual trainer, he is on a raw vegan diet, I tried some of the foods he eats raw and could not handle it. Mushrooms, cauliflower, spinach and the usual was all I could eat, my friend is like a slug but he glows truly and is the only person I know who picks up rubbish wherever he is, he is my brother from another mother.

I have some post seconday education being trained in anthropology and philosophy. Not that I have a degree or anything I can use towards a career.

It fascinates me so much how a team of programmers build these games, I dont play games much but 1 game I love is Skyrim, how they produce these games with what seems such a small group of people and they release alot of games.

Amazing stuff, so glad I started this post.
