Hello to everyone...

i bought a cooker like crockpot ... but i m not sure if it is the same cooker u call crock pot and cooks with same degrees ...
What degree can demage the dmt in mimoza ? And what's the 3 level crock pots heat ? I tried my new cooker at high and after 2 hours there was just a very very few water ... Couse most of it boiled ... Do u think the mimoza demaged couse of the heat ? What u advise me ?

I try to keep all liquids to under 160F degrees while I'm extracting mimosa. Generally I operate in the 140 to 150F degree range and I've had no troubles. Things do need to be hot, but not to the point of boiling.
When I reduce the amount of acidic solution in the oven, I keep the oven temp at 150F degrees and I keep the oven door cracked open, stirring every 30 minutes or so to keep the heat even across the flat, glass dish.
Normally takes like 4 to 6 hours but I'd rather it took a longer time, than vaporise anything I wanted to keep!!

On the other foot, I have also read that boiling is OK during the acid stages but not during base stages and can actually help get a bigger yield.
But I'm not sure about that & I'm not planning to experiment with my spice.

Things have always worked great for me at the temps I use, so I don't feel any need to mess around with it.
I have a analog espresso thermometer that I hang on the outer pot of my heat bath, to keep a rough watch on soaking temps etc...
I also use a digital espresso thermometer, to spot check the temp's of the various liquids before and during use.

Both cost me a total of $10 at Target!!
and work great!!

Ayahuscerro's boil the hell out of their DMT containing leaves + Caapi vine for 10+hours.. I've had mine at a slow boil for several hours with good results. To play it safe, keep it at or below a slow simmer.

As usual SWIM doesn't follow the crowd. SWIM boils it vigorously when extracting with water. He boils for about 15 minutes 3 times. He gets better yields that way than simmering all day long. But the best yields are had from using a Soxhlet with boiling isopropyl alcohol for about 10 hours.

The DMT is present is a very stable salt form. Most salts are far more heat resistant than their freebase counterparts. For example, while the boiling point of freebase DMT is about 60 C (140 F), the melting point of DMT picrate is about 170 C (338 F), the melting point of DMT methiodide is about 216 C (421 F). Water boils at 100 C (212 F). These salt forms have melting points that are far enough above the boiling point of water that SWIM believes they are quite stable in vigorously boiling water. This is why natives can boil ayahusca for many hours and still produce very active brews.

There may actually be some loss in DMT when boiling vigorously in water, but SWIM hasn’t seen that it’s enough to notice. Just because the melting point is higher than the boiling point of water doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s as stable as SWIM believes it to be.
