What does your ACRB extract look like?

yeah it beats me.... nmt is an ally of dmt, .. a partner in crime, a conjoined twin that doesn't want to be separated from its dimethylated brother .

i have a feeling this pretty much comes down to the aesthetic quality of the extract.. most people seem keen on getting nice crystals. people should consider though what is more important: the look of the extract or the experience itself

I've never tried spice with significant NMT content to my knowledge, but you are right about them being allies. Any plant or animal that contains DMT must contain NMT as well as NMT is the intermediate that is formed when making DMT from tryptamine. Inevitably, all spice will contain some NMT, and the similarity between the molecules makes them co-crystallize and nearly impossible to separate. I merely gave a simple way to convert the NMT to DMT if one wishes to do so. If half of the tryptamine content in your product is NMT, running the reaction will convert it all to DMT, giving you twice as much DMT. I think this is really a matter of personal preference which I personally dont know where I stand yet. I would have to try an NMT rich batch of spice to form an opinion on the matter. Please don't think I have any problem with NMT as all spice was NMT at one point in its existence.

I actually tend to side with you on that one, the plants will give up what they are meant to, and your product from a particular species will contain multiple alkaloids with psychoactive properties if it has a rich enough tryptamine content to extract DMT from. I will likely be working with acacia for my next xtract as mimosa is not as readily available as it was last year. At that point I will try the NMT rich product and see for myself. Until then I just hope nobody does anything stupid trying to separate them and hurt themselves. Chemistry is not a game and this stuff should be approached with a high level of caution, like personal protective equipment(gloves and goggles people!!), and never heating organic solvents with open flames as my good friend soulshine can attest to in his post "Baptism by fire".

I'd think twice about posting a 'tek' for the conversion, it's technically a synthesis with chemicals many are not familiar with.
a separation procedure using ion-exchange resin would probably be acceptable under Nexus rules.

it is possible to obtain a quaternary ammonium salt (N,N,N-trimethyltryptamine) under certain reaction conditions (reductive amination + methylation) with certain reagents, methylation doesn't just stop at DMT.

it the plant in question contains a considerable amount of NMT, you may be dealing with a young plant (afaik, the conversion from tryptamine -->NMT--> DMT is irreversible). allow it to age some before extracting. metabolism tends to occur consistently over a timeline, which is why papers mention doing extractions on the grass at certain time intervals, to avoid extracting latter metabolites in the pathway

No need to pollute her gifts with the waste and disgust that is what a fool does in the presence of her grace.

i think he's saying that those that want pure crystal are "drug" users and those that get the nice coctail of nmt, beta carbolines and dmt mixed together in goo and know how to use it are the truly initiated and anointed.

I personally would like to separate as i don't need to keep getting potentiated if i want to keep hitting the spice once i've been primed with the nmt/beta carbolines.

mono methyl chains on tryptamine are an abomination.

di methyl chains are totally cool.

tis naught but simple science. spirituality is directly related how many methyl chains are on a tryptamine molecule (trimethyl is too spiritual, it will turn you into martin ball)
