What scale do you use?

Migrated topic.

SWIM is almost done with preparations to perform his first extraction( -many thanks to this forum). SWIM has realized a good-quality scale is the biggest (and possibly most important) investment of this process and is wondering if anyone has recommendations before he blows 200 on one.

Hey everyone. In the interest of safety and not being wasteful, I've decided to take the plunge and buy a milligram scale for my buddy McGuirk. I found this scale for less than $30 on Amazon, and it really caught my eye. A milligram scale for less than $30... It seems too good to be true.

Does anyone have any experience with this scale? Also, does anyone know of or have experience with any other relatively cheap milligram scales?

I personally have never used that particular scale... In my personal experience a cheapy low quality scale will not really be very accurate... With the cheap <$50 scale that I purchased recently I have noticed that sometimes it is waaaaay out...

I guess that at the end of the day it is only $30... I reckon you should just buy it and let us all know how accurate it is :) hehehe - Id definitely buy one if it was half decent. :)

Really though as you become more experienced with any particular batch of spice... you begin to 'know' what an active breakthrough dose looks like... sometimes a trained eyeball can be the most accurate scale

hm... i should invest in one of those. i dont like eyeballing out my hits. i like to know exactly how much im getting.

Completely agree. SWIM sometimes has extra spice in his pipe after a session. Makes it hard to guage how much is needed for the next session.

SWIM has used that scale in the past but prefers the AWS Gemini-20 mainly due to its removable weighing tray which makes it significantly harder to damage. The cover also works much better as a wind guard on the gemini-20.

SWIM needs to roll in a new scale as the gemini is getting old and bruised. looking at another gemini as they are still very cheap
