I used q21's tek to extract spice, with heptane substituted for the naphtha since it's not allowed in California, and I was wondering what other people do to further purify their spice. I want to try again and am really wondering because if naphtha is used for the original extraction, people have said to use heptane for the recrystallization. If I used heptane, what should I do for a wash and recrystallization? I want to get rid of some of the harshness and have a purer spice. Thanks!

You recrystallize with that heptane and you wash with sodium carbonate dilute solution if you want. All instructions in the FAQ

yeah, the important thing is the amount, around 30ml warm heptane per gram of impure product. And dont throw the goo that stays behind away, do another small pull on it and freeze/evap separately for a bit more of DMT.
