What went wrong here?

I did my first extraction on 112g of mhrb but only ended up with some off white goo that wasn't psychoactive at all.

Here's what I did exactly. Can you guys help figure out where it went wrong

1) added 112g mhrb to mixing bowl

2) added 100ml white distilled vinegar. Red clumps formed

3) added 100ml near-boiling water. Mix turned soupy with deep red color.

4) let mix sit for around an hour

5) added 75g calcium hydroxide to basify and mixed completely

6) added approx another 10-15g calcium hydroxide in an attempt to maintain consistency

7) let sit around 35 min

8) added 100ml of naptha heated to 40 Celsius

9)removed naptha layer and attempted freeze precip

Naptha got foggy but never cleared. Attempted multiple pulls and evapped multiple times with nothing but a very little bit of off white goo

The bark should have been cooked in several changes of acid solution for hours, not steeped once for 30 minutes.
Calcium hydroxide isn't a strong enough base.
The goods are still mostly in the bark. Go back and do a few boils in vinegar and use lye to basify.

What exactly do you mean by boiling in vinegar?

Reacidify to ph 5 and cook in crock pot for a few hours?

Then basify to ph 12?

He's following q21's tek, calcium hydroxide works for this tek. It's best to let the base'd MHRB sit for 24 hours before pulling though. Also let the Naptha sit in the freezer for 24 hours to fully precipitate.

The basified mixture has sat for days already and every pull yields nothing. Perhaps it's my naptha? I'm using zippo fluid. Should i get vm&p instead?

Sorry about the double post, but at this point I'd just like to turn my question to how can I salvage this mess of root bark, water, vinegar, CaOH, and alkaloids?

ah hah..your in USA... yes YOU should get VM P at about any ace hardware, if you got crap in your napthat could be part of problem. remembetr by the lime method no need at least 3 to 4 ratio.i try to get near 1 to 1. Get a big mixing bowl and you will have that consistincy wothout a mess and chance to smash the lime wiht the bark. it should be consistency of good slightly moist topsoil

I guess they don't sell vm & p at my ace anymore. What's the next best? Coleman camping fuel, ronsonal, or xylene?

You can get it at lowes, if there were impurities in the last solvent you used it would be in the bark though. I wouldn't imagine the solvent being the issue though.

Perhaps I don't leave the solvent in long enough. The naptha was left in for at most 10 min.

Also, can you freeze precip xylene or are you forced to evap?

EDIT: Might have just realized the problem! Could my problem be that the bark mix is room temp while the naptha is 40 degrees C. The naptha clearly cools down extremely fast. Maybe that's the problem? Should the naptha still be warm when pulled out of the mix?

Put boiling water in a container(like sink maybe?) That you can the put the container of mhrb in that way it heats and stays hot the whole 10 minutes and be sure to stir every couple minutes. Don't get the naptha near a flame at all though.

I'm going to give that a try tomorrow when I have a chance. I'll set up the slow cooker and heat up a mason jar with half the mhrb mixture with naptha.(I'm splitting the mix into two jars so the naptha can fit). I'll leave it in for like 15 mins until the naptha and mix is a consistent 40 C. Will that work do you think?

Perhaps, boiling water in the sink is sure to heat the whole mixture enough though.

UPDATE: After another pull that was simmered for 20 mins in warm water, my precip jar in the freezer has white chunks all over the walls. These should be DMT crystals, correct? I'd hate if they were water condensation that just melted later on after scraping

If you follow the tek to the T you should have 0 problems!! You should use Naphtha!! Its in the paint department at lowes. Just say you are stripping an old desk and you heard naphtha works best.. This tek is flawless if you use all ingredients listed. and follow step by step. good luck!.

Also next time when you are trying a new method start with a lower amount of raw material. cut your mhrb to 50 grams. that should get you started on your way to hyperspace more than a few times..

Let the naphtha sit longer.
6 hours at least.

20 minutes is fine for the first 4 pulls, to get mostly white, let the 5th sit 24 hours though to pull some yellowish spice.
