when to defat?

I have never defatted any bark yet.. but want to on my 400 gram acacia extraction...
As i understand it... defating bark is just grinding it up and putting it inta a bottle of water ..letting it sit 24 hours..then adding so much napatha to the water bark mixture and
shaking...then doing a couple hot water baths then removing the fatty napatha layer..
Do this two times....

My question is.... instead of defatting a mixture of powdered bark...can i defat the liquid i boil out of the acacia from an acid boil...minus the bark fiber?
This step will be done before any lye is added...
After doing my combined 4 acid boils [boiling with white vinagar water and salt]from thick light tek can i simply take the extreacted liquid and add napatha and defat that way?
Or is this idea wrong?
I just want to defat my acid boil extract by adding napatha and shaking .. before any lye is added?
thanks..

Yes. As long as the spice is happily dissolved in a polar solution, introducing a non-polar solvent will dissolve many other things, but will leave the desired alkaloids untouched.

I tryed my first defatt after acid boiling 400grams of acacia bark and here is some pictures below of fat layer in jar..

I was able to fit the boiled out alcaloids of 400 grams of bark ..
[[[5 acid boils leaving one gallon of liquid]]]...into less than a quart bottle by straining out the bark fiber then reducing the water down to fit in vinigar bottle..
[[am i crouding too much in too small a space??]

After waiting till seperation happens... [even after all night].. the light colered goo just falls to bottom and is still there ..[[in a thinner layer?]]..although the napatha looks [ a little more clear]...isnt the light collored goo what i need to remove?:?:

The stuff seems slow to seperate...and still there is a thinner layer of goo on bottom of napatha [between napatha and water layer]...

If I remove the setteld out napatha...dont i also need to remove the thinner layer of
just below it???:?:
any advice apreciated...

What did you strain it with? It doesn't look very filtered to me...

I would avoid removing anything other than the naphtha itself. The impurities you are removing with the defat will be dissolved into it. Anything that is not dissolved into the naphtha should not be removed.

This is photos of my second defatt and ...
[oops!.. i did remove a bunch of slimy oily crap that settled in between water and napatha layer..hope it wasnt spice!
It looked very oily to me...
Below are better pictures of the seperation layer...

Oh.. to answer question of what i strained the bark fiber with..?
it was just a screen kitchen strainer ..like you would strain pasta with after boiling..
And a lot of much finer bark material did get through it.. but most of the bark fiber was seperated...

Why don't you do you're extraction as normal , then place all pulled naps in acidified water toss the oily fat naps rebasing the solution then repulling with clean naphtha x 3 ! It's what I do and it's perfectly dry after 20mins fan drying after the precipe , and I also use ACRB !!
