Where does the universe end?

Migrated topic.
I don't think there is anything. It's all just smoke and mirrors - the only thing is God or whatever you want to call it, and outside of God there is nothing.

On the wiki pedia page you posted I read the first two paragraphs and it says a good metaphor for the infinite regression problem is the chicken and egg problem? What if I think I solved the chicken and egg problem? In theory then I and you guys could solve the infinite regression problem? It all makes sense when you look at the site he posted for wikipedia.

But what is the edge? I'm watching that too or was watching it, nat geo thing on the universe?? Ha and is the universe flat or does it have shape like the earth so in theory you could go back to the same place by going in one direction in space and eventually you would b back where you started or would you just keep going and going and going? This show got my mind boggled!

I think there is this zero point pregnant void thing that the mystics talk about, and it is infinite, and then there is creation, but creation is just a mirror of kinds, and just an illusion. We happen to be a conscious aspect of that illusion.

I picture this arrangement to be something like the mandlebrot set. The nothing is the dark, organic buddha like shape, and the never ending fractal colours are creation. If one could somehow penetrate the barrier of the big bang, it would be like going from our world into the zero. This experience has been described many times by the psychonauts of this forum.

Well, if you go with the theory of Quantum Physics and a collective consciousness, there IS no absolute physical, and therefore the IS no absolute physical beyond. Everything is simply the creation of experience by the observer, and therefore (excuse the cliche, but) the possibilities are limitless, what's beyond is truly infinite. I'm not preaching this theory, just offering one common viewpoint.

This dude does a nice job of explaining it (although the chick doing the interview is a bit annoying :p 😉 ) Cool series of vids though!

Peace,

I watched an episode of 'the universe' on the history channel once about parallel universes, was definately mind boggling! There are a few different theories, one being that our universe is like a single 'soap bubble' floating in a cosmic froth of an infinite amount of parallel universes. Talk about crazy, I was bugging face already on some good geltabs when I saw this! So according to this theory, beyond our universe are infinite parallel universes. But what could be in the spaces between? nothingness? dark matter? hyperspace?

What do we realy know about infinity.

"a.. A billion seconds ago it was 1963.

b.. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

c.. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

d.. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet. "

outside... hmm perhaps were not meant to know..
this reminds me the other day during the peak of the full moon my friends catfish commited suicide..
earlier in the day the owner of said catfish introduced a new bottom feeder into the ecosystem
evidently the two didnt hit it off well the new fish bit the catfish.. and well later the catfish took a leap of faith.. above and beyond ejecting from his reality in a admirable display of courage.. only to suffocate on the carpet. sad i know :(
but i am proud of this catfish.. he went where no other fish dared and for this he gave his life. if only for a moment he got a glimpse of whats beyond the tank.. maybe one day we will too.
