Why do you/SWIY use DMT?

Migrated topic.

Just something to do really, nothing more than an end to a means. The means been time and the ends been living. There's no real deeper meaning or fulfillment attributed to it in my humble impression, I guess to people with much better things to do it would just seem like a roller coaster ride - pay once, pay twice, it doesn't really matter.

Excellent answer, indeed. Poor dear Oscar Wilde wouldn´t say it better. Brief, informative... Bravo!

Things that seemed impossible before are spreading through the minds of friends and the conversations are getting really interesting.

It seems like studying a new art/science, one that is rewarding, but takes work.

There is much that I do not understand. I knew that before, but I have a much better idea of how little I know now. I want to know more.

I believe that much good can come from this. This is a visceral belief, no mere hunch, but I can't really explain it.

Is Utopia within reach? Not likely. Can things be better, or at least better understood through these journeys? Surely.

SWIM's life changed a lot with psychedelics. Many of the trips have shown negative aspects of SWIM which he later started working on, and he has become a healthier, more patient and accepting person. So DMT, being a psychedelic, has been used by SWIM many times (specially orally) as a very effective self-analysis self-observation self-awareness tool.

Thats not all, of course.. There's also the utter bliss which is possible under those states of consciousness, which also brings SWIM back to using it (quite rarely nowadays).. Taking dmt in whatever form is, for SWIM, like having an internal video with the most amazing art ever made, way better than any van gogh or whatever.. So being confronted with such heavenly art is a hedonic plus, thats for sure

Also, it is like an occasional shock or alarm clock, which wakes SWIM up temporarily from the usual social and cultural imprinting, from routine, and returns the very important 'What the F....' mysterious feeling and being awe-inspired at the universe, back to SWIM's daily life

Ever since SWIM was a little kid he was wondering about the mysteries of life. Of course, he didn't realize that they were the mysteries of life at the time. When he was 10 or 11 he began to tell his parents that, "It seems that humanity has taken a wrong turn somewhere..." To which they would nod there heads to, like one nods their head to their child but isn't listening. Later in his teenage years his intuition really kicked in. SWIM began to have a "feeling" that there was a "key" to life, or something similar, that would make life a simple and joyous thing to be a part of, minus all this crap we're forced into by the culture. This undiscovered "key" (undiscovered for SWIM) felt like it was a secret, and felt as if it would be ridiculously simple once found, to the point where people wouldn't believe that this is indeed the "key" to life.

Well, as time passed and SWIM approached his 30th cycle around the sun, so grew this part of SWIM. He had been exploring with other psychedelics for a few months before he stumbled upon the world of the Spice, and it has launched him into the world where he think this "key" exists. Now, sensing he is so close, he is focusing all his energy and intent on exploration and sharing what is discovered.

He uses the Spice because it helps him see the big picture, and make sense of things that would normally take weeks or months to ponder. He uses it because it is a connection to the "cosmic internet" of information and knowledge from the Universe and beyond. He uses it because he can consult with other sources of wisdom that help guide him in the physical dimension and unite it with the spiritual.

I've always loved the ability we have to adjust our realities with music, chemicals, dance and so many other things.

Spice, being at the extreme end of the reality adjustment tools we have to play with, exerted a pull on me since I first heard of it!

1. It's like turning me off and on again.
2. It gets me out of negative mind ruts.
3. Something to enjoy and discuss with trusting friends.
4. Takes me down a peg or two when I think I know everything.
5. Sometimes I drink too much and it just seems right.... probably my worst reason :(

I'ts the same for me... at least 1-4 :)

Its very interesting to hear about why you all use the spice :)

The main reason is of exploration, both of this we call hyperspace and of the self. I've always been very interested in my own mind, how it works and how I can evolve as a person. This naturally brought me into mind-altering drugs at a pretty early stage in my life, where my introduction was composed of cannabis. From this I wandered on a wavy way with many off-paths and tried most of the more common ones, such as alcohol, stimulants, opioids of various kinds, and finally psychedelics.

Psychedelics seemed to mean something very special to me. In other drugs I only found pure recreational value (alcohol, stimulants, opioids and to some part cannabis), but in psychedelics I got very impressed to learn that there were something more to it. There was a bigger picture I just intensely urged discover more about!

I therefore in my search tried many of these kinds of drugs, such as HBW, N-Ethyl-2C-B, 2C-B, shrooms, Bromo Dragonfly, and so on. Finally I made myself an opportunity to try DMT by extracting it, and yeah, it's probably the very extreme of what I've been searching. It seems to be the most powerful tool we have to explore our minds and this (what seems to be) another realm.

It got kind of long, and a bit off the main topic, sorry! I though, find that this is a complicated question from the beginning, but I can probably narrow it down to two things; self-exploration of the own mind and general interest and belief in the positive effects of responsible psychedelic use. 😉

I've been very intrigued by this spirit molecule for the last 3 years or so. I plan to do an extraction soon, but it was not really an option for me before so I read about it on Erowid, BL, HF, etc. Before I had a chance to do an extraction, synthed DMT found me. I have had 2 sub-breakthough experiences and am taking it slowly as I want to give all due respect to this very special spirit molecule.

As mentioned above, self-exploration and obaining knowledge about the nature of reality or my own existence, are my main motivating factors.

To plagiarise a famous phrase from an ad :

" DMT...Probably the best psychedelic in the world ! "

But seriously, the few times i have taken DMT,it has already shown me there is more to know than what i believe i already understand. And what i understand is just a fraction of the infinite possibilities :d
DMT is a journey....Higher state of consciouness is the destination :!:
