Will there be problems doing a Sodium Carbonate wash using a syringe to separate?

Yeah for sure.
I've used a glass beaker for washing, throw in a pinch of sodium carbonate to 25ml of hot distilled h20 and mix it all up, then throw it into your solvent, stir it really well, and it will separate instantly, but of course its on the bottom now instead of the top, so with a baster you just have to be a little more careful, for as you know, you dont want any h20 in your final extract.
Do a final wash with just plain distilled water to remove traces of the sodium carb.
