Should it not be standard practise to add Zinc dust to the acidification stage of an extraction to convert any DMT N oxide to DMT?

After reading this DMT N-Oxide to Freebase DMT - Advanced/Enhanced chemistry - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus

He makes a good point that DMT n oxide is not soluble in Naptha so we are effectively leaving all that behind in the basic soup. Now this depends on how much DMT n oxide your bark contains. So rather than convert the goo before/during crystallization you could have already converted it and potentially a whole lot more.

If I remember correctly, an analysis of Acacia Confusa shows it contains almost no dmt oxide.

If the bark is very old and not stored properly it might be a good Idea to add zinc dust to the acidifying step.

The goo from acacia is usually just plant oils and/or nmt which prefers to be an oil in most instances.

As far as I've read when you re-crystallize the orange liquid that sits at the bottom of the naptha is DMT n oxide.
Although how did it get there in the first place if it is not soluble in naptha? unless it oxidised post doing the naptha pulls.
I would love to see a side by side of the addition of zinc.
