Just wondering what peoples opinions on what will happen in 2012. Personally I think something positive is going to happen and that there is nothing really to worry about it. Peace
 
12-21-2012 this day has been fucking with me for years maybe its like y2k or it might be disasterous or the magnetic field will reverse and if that happens then crazy shit willhappen bird migration patterns altered dolphins and wales will be lost and humans who knows what will happen to our brains maybe a global climax imagine a universal sunsplash
 
I know the answer.... The reason that the Mayan calandar ends with 2012 is because it is the year that the last person w/ a significant Mayan heritage/ancestery will die. The Mayans just didn't feel it necissary to keep track of time after they have all left this plane of existance ;)
 
Personally I think you all should stop putting your faith in some far-away date in hopes of some cataclysmic historic event to change humanity. YOU, AND I, WE, have to change humanity for the better. One small step at a time! When 2012 comes and goes, then it will be another date, 2020, or whatever. And then will you still do nothing but cross your fingers? Don't wait. Start living now.

It's my understanding that there will be a global shift in consciousness on the planet. Now as to how that will occur is anyone's guess. Perhaps an AI will develop a soul, maybe aliens will introduce themselves to us and explain the universe, maybe the magnetic poles will shift thus upending how many animals behave (shifting their consciousness), maybe some cataclysmic event will draw humanity into a unified peoples. Anything could happen, I just know that I better get a handle on my brain now, before I get a chance to upgrade 😉
 
Maybe the universe will start contracting instead of expanding.

Just wondering why is it always assumed to be a positive change?
 
Well what I believe and many others is that there is going to be a polar shift. This could be an actual polar shift which would most likely cause a large climate change for everything living. This for the most part would be dooming for most the earth. Also this polar shift could cause the earth to change its course and cause it to get sucked into the suns gravitational pull. I personally am leaning more towards a different type of polar shift. It could be possibly by this time women will rule the world instead of men. Hillary being the start (hopefully not). But what I am leaning the most towards is the most bizarre but what has been personally confirmed to me by various multidimensional entities. I would bet that it will be the fall of Christianity. Everything has been adding up to this, the Age of Aquarius. I have had visions of interdimensional beings (Greys) just coming to our dimension and planet and ending the whole Christianity belief and making us realize that indeed all these texts where actually made to describe them and that they are the angels and the lights in the sky. I don’t believe that they will be bad or negative to humanity unless you aren’t ready to change your beliefs on life.

As far as I know the only polar shift in the past we know of took it's time to shift and it was only 50 degrees: it was in a timeperiod of 20 million years!

Earth can take another spin on itself but to make Earth change its course we need A LOT more energy. If Earth would fall towards the Sun, the speed of Earth orbiting the Sun would increase. This increased rotational orbiting speed will result in Earth moving away from the Sun resulting in a slow down cousing Earth to fall towards the Sun, increasing speed of orbit, well you get it... This osciliation will decrease in time cousing the Earth to pretty much get back into it's current orbit. But then again you would really need enormous amounts of energy to change the course of Earth.

I don't think anyone is just waiting. Those people that believe that something big is going to happen are all living their lives now and most of them just getting prepared. Cleaning their system and working on them selves. Or life is preparing them for something.
And if someone wants to just sit on his ass and wait doing nothing then so what? Is that any of your business?
I think it's more likely that people that don't see anything coming are just sitting on their asses doing nothing. And good for them. That's their choice and I respect that.

I reckon maybe they messed up the date calculation

cos something bigs happening right now...Im sure...

Also I had the idea that this kind of global change concept
would not necessarily have to involve a physical change of any kind,
like political, economic, environmental, galactical, etc

Maybe the great change itself could be the phenomenon of people realising where they are
and no longer trusting in hypothetical external stimulation as a means of change,
and instead, just getting on with it.

we got consciousness, perceptive and rational faculties,
we got being
we got wonderfully complex mind
we got bodies with which to propel ourselves through space-time
we got spirit
maybe we've even got God...

exactly what else do we need?

I couldn't agree more. It's time to stop blaming everyone else, and begin to accept responsibility for our own fates.
