Yes, it's basically "synthetic psilocybin". Easier for long term storage without degrading like shrooms will. Due to the fact it can be capped and taken as pills it also will come on a more regular and predictable way rather than the waves that shrooms tends to come on as it is metabolized.
Took it after taking a hit of acid. I found it to be a bit more 'DMT like' also, although I think psilocybin also becomes more like if you have done it after you have done a fair bit of DMT over an extended period.
 
4-HO-MET or metocin, is a substance that produces shroom-like effects. The general consensus is that it lacks the magic that makes magic mushrooms magical. This is also my experience. 4-HO-MiPT or miprocin is a far more interesting substance that comes much closer to the magic provided by psilocin.

Metocin is very mild and managable. More experienced psychonauts often find it superficial and boring, but it does give a glimpse of what a magic mushroom experience feels like.
It is not very immersive, wich makes it so mild and managable. But that lack of immersion is also what makes it a little boring.
It's like the difference between seeing something on a sceen or actually being there yourself.

It can be used to enhance the effect of more immersive psychedelics though, like LSD or shrooms. It will enhance visuals and other effects without realy making the experience more challenging. Basically, as an enhancer, it will boost most of the psychedelic sensations without further altering your state of mind.

Pretty cool substance to say the least. I used the Psychonautwiki entry of it to dose it. It was one of the reasons I got myself a mg accurate scale.

It feels kinda like shrooms only in my opinion the visuals come way closer to dmt. Just make sure you don't go all crazy with the dose whenever you feel comfortable.
Had some adverse effects whenever I started to do stupid stuff like taking +-80mg.
