FWIW, SWIM is in the process of an STB extraction with 300mg of MHRB that's over 5 years old. It was sitting basically in storage, forgotten. In plastic bags (the ones in which it originally arrived), with relatively stable temps and humidity through that time (in a basement).
SWIM used heptane for the extractions. After 3 pulls, SWIM had ~ 6g crystals.
SWIM hopes to get up to 8 with all pulls totaled. Then a xylene pull to finish.
Just thought this could be somewhat heartening for those who think letting a root bark sit around for too long will degrade alkaloids. While SWIM can't be sure what the total extraction would have been with the fresh MHRB, SWIM is pretty pleased with the results so far.
