Would it be possible to make changa from chacruna without naptha defatting / pulls? Salvia extracts had me contemplating this, but obviously the big difference is producing a freebase like with harmalas (A/B).

Big concerns would be low yield and oiling out, but chacruna often presents these issues anyway—that’s why it’s better for changa.

Are there other reasons this could be a poor idea?

Nvm—even with a highly saturated solution it probably wouldn't work well.
Despite potentially not needing solvents, this path seems incredibly time consuming and wasteful.

There will be updates to this. “Eco-friendly” practices weren’t followed in terms of solvent use, only in terms of growing chacruna from scratch. However, very interesting things happen if the brew is excessively filtered before pulling. First, defatting becomes less necessary (less naptha / xylene needed). Second, at a pH of ~5 something can crash out similarly to harmalas (no pictures of that exist unfortunately). Clarified aya can still be potent at a similar pH. Wondering if this is destroyed once the pH reaches ~13? Or, perhaps a fatty acid? Pillowy settling can still occur at pH ~13.
