A few questions of DMT, salvia etc

Migrated topic.

Hi, I'm new here and I'm new to hallucinogens, and for that reason I have a few questions to ask.

About 2 years ago, after a lot of vigorous exercise, I noticed the classic fuzzy visuals of a bad migraine with extreme sickness and headache, I headed to the hospital. Afterwards, while awaiting to be seen to, I noticed a numbing feeling of a few fingers and my face, followed by confusion and I found it hard to understand and read words. Once I got seen to, I described all of the above and they said it was a migraine, it cleared up quickly from then on.

After returning home and feeling well now, I googled the symptoms, curious of the weird difficulty I had in reading words. I found something about a mini stroke, but it didn't bother me at the time, as I was still alive and well. I'm asking here if this experience means hallucinogens are a problem for me(I hope not).

I'd also like to ask if I was to take Salvia Divinorum, Harmaline, DMT etc. could it change my personality and/or state of mind permanently. If all is okay, I'm set on getting some salvia soon, as I believe this may be used as an insight into the works of my mind. I'd also like to say I'm a creative, scientific and philosophically minded person.

Thanks for all help:)

Welcome to the forum! I doubt that a propensity for migraines is a contraindication for using psychedelics – you should be OK.

I also don’t think that using psychedelic substances in a responsible manner will change your personality or permanently change your state of mind (of course, during an experience your state of mind will be altered in ways you never imagined possible).

What will possibly change is your belief system, how you look at reality, and your general outlook on life.

My first psychedelic experience was with salvia, and I’ve never had the awful experiences that many people seem to have. The “messages” that salvia gives me are often very symbolic and metaphorical, so it’s often hard to figure out what the message is, or indeed if there is a message at all.

Good luck!

I wouldn't say that it'd change your personality and/or state of mind permanently.

I do believe that it'd give you some insight into the workings of your mind. At the very least, you can see how dependent your sense of reality is in relation to the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain. At best, it may help you transcend the feelings of self (ego loss), at least temporarily.

If you already are as you've stated, I doubt that'd come to change. Before and after the usage of these substances, I've never noticed any permanent behavioral changes in friends. Slackers remained slackers, conscientious types remained conscientious. In many ways, the experience can be what you make of it.

Also--- I doubt the migraines would be an issue. If you are taking any medication for the migraines, look for conflicting drug interactions with those as well.
Fairly sure this is something entirely different, but cluster migraines (a pain comparable to giving a thousand births at once) can be alleviated by light tryptamine usage.

It can happen on all psychedelics, but i think some have more of a change to give you a life changing experience.

Welcome,

I only had a life changing experience on bufo. It made me think of all the bad things i have done in my life, and what i need to do to fix them. Also how i shouldn't be doing any synthetic drugs anymore, just natural. In my opinion there is many different types of life changing experiences, some can be good and some can be bad. I don't think any are really bad, they just feel bad.

I hope i was of some help.

The following refers to the fictitious 'I"

I have no extreme insight on salvia as with other psychedelics, especially with the high doses of Sally D. On low doses, the best I can try and do with my intelligence is remember previous experiences, and to try and dissect the mechanics and "mental camerawork" of the senses. On higher doses, I've had such ego loss to the point where I was sincerely convinced I was a couch: no friends, no one to talk to...just a couch. Most of the time it could be 20 seconds or so into the trip, and I won't even remember what drug it was I took to make me feel so insane. I'll ask myself, "was it weed?...no couldn't have been...oh yeah, it's called salvia...wonder what that's supposed to do..." For me, salvia is like going to the amusement park, and you get only one ticket to go on one ride, and that ride is absolutely bonkers, and lasts about five minutes, and if you wanna go again, you gotta get another ticket...

Thanks so much for your help and support, I am soon going to extract some harmala alkaloids from syrian rue, as they sound very interesting. I'm also waiting to receive salvia, of which I'll try to record my experience. It's a nice place around here. Cheers :)
