Hello all, psychonauts and otherwise,
On New Years Eve 2024, I had my first (and until this upcoming weekend, only) psychedelic trip, on mushrooms at 26.
By New Years Day 2025, I had enough courage to apply to college. It took some sober self-adjustment, but I switched my major from business to a healthcare field.
Coming from a working class background, substances were just something that helped you ignore life for awhile instead of giving you the option to reflect.
My first drug was caffeine, I distinctly remember loving the rush as a four year old and always fiending for some. After that it was sneaking liquor and beer, stealing DXM and somehow scrounging up weed.
I'm doing better without them and I absolutely don't mind waiting to be in a good headspace for psychs. Things are in motion right now so I'm just preparing for another mushroom trip.
Can't say I'm quite ready for DMT yet, but I still want to approach it with respect and safety, same as the fine users on here. I'm looking forward to learning from all of y'all
