A friend of mine extracted jungle spice using the limonene lime tec. The end product was the expected red goo. But when this red goo is vaporized it does not smell like dmt. Is that normal. Also does not seem to have much effect. What could be going on?

Have you checked out this thread? ------>> Jungle Spice

Which tek exactly and what other processes were used? If you give us a little more info in detail on what your friend did, it will be easier to indentify and solve the problem!

Best wishes

It was the q21q21 process that uses A/B white vinegar, pickling lime, and limonene. On the first pull they heated the limonene a bit with the idea of getting more goodies on first pull. They suspect perhaps when they did that they may have pulled an excess of fats from the plant material. The solvent was agitated will vinegar to salt out the content. then the vinegar was evaporated in a double boiler to freebase the content. They had a little trouble getting all the goo out of the pan so a little limonene was added to the pan to salvage what was left. the solvent was then evaporated in a pan.

Ah, I see. What plant material was used? I use q21q21's tek 1 quite a bit. I have never heated the limonene. It pulls most if not everything out after a few pulls of room temp limo.

Everything you mentioned seems normal except for evaporating your limo. D-limonene is known to not evaporate cleanly. It leaves behind residue no matter what purity it is. When smoalked did it taste orange-y?

To recover the rest of your spice (after double boiling the vinegar down to goo) I would recommend using some 99% isopropyl, acetone, or everclear. Swish that around a bit and then pour it into a Pyrex dish to evap.

acacia confusa. And yea there is a little orangy residue. Makes it harsh. Im guessing the only practical way of getting ride of this residue is to dissolve goo into hot vinegar water and baster off the top layer of orange oil?

^^^Yes indeed! Acacia has other actives in it too like NMT which will be in the goo. It is active but is believed to be about 1/3 the strength of DMT. That is another reason why some trips are not as strong as others when vaping acacia goo.

I hope this is helpful! :)
