Hey all,
I just finishing answering a question in Noob and the guy had a liter of one thing, 7 Tbsp of another, and a half pound of something else.
No pecks or hogsheads though.
So I propose that being able to use the metric system be a requirement for a Noob to become a full member.
No test or anything, and we need not be fascisti puerco about it, we'll just ask that posts in the full member forums to be in metric measurement and practice such ourselves, which we pretty much do anyway.
Maybe put a Metric 101 sticky up in Noob?

I personally grew up in a country that uses metric and now live in a country that uses imperial. I am familiar with both systems and I do not really mind it when people do not use metric. Granted, it can make a post a bit confusing to decipher, but I think people should feel free to use whatever system they find more convenient for them. If not anything else, it gives other people the opportunity to familiarise with other counting systems.
 
Did you know if you go to google.com and type in the search field.

"1.2 gallons in liters" Googles says:


1.2 US gallons = 4.54249414 liters

I think google should be a requirement for noobs, not knowing one system or the other. The basic chemistry involved his here not beyond a middle or high school level anywhere and takes more common sense than anything. Figure it out. If you cant, order the measuring tools from the interwebs.
