"A Naturally Occurring Amine"

A question I have had and I'm sure will always have, also I'm sure all have heard and/or have/had the same question... If DMT is a naturally occurring substance in just about every living thing, why then is it a Schedule III controlled substance? Thought's please. I have been wracking my mind for some time now to eliminate the simple ignorance, prevention of it falling into the wrong hands, or simple method of "maintaining mental control of the populous" aspect of illegalizing it. I had hoped to find a more logical or rational reasoning for the court to mandate a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison for manufacturing it. Thought's please.

Our species is extremely young still. We are just now in the age where all kids born will be completely saturated in the Internet and computer technology being a major part of everyone's lives. We still have men who treat women like they are less, we are putting crap food into our bodies and now organic is harder to get and is more expensive, and we haven't come together as a species we are still divided by race and belief.

We have made some shit decisions for quite a while. We are slowly learning from our mistakes. Drugs are illegal because there are people who still think they need to regulate what we put in our bodies for whatever reason. Whether they actually think DMT and weed is bad for you really doesn't matter. What matters is that eventually it won't/can't work that way.

DMT is actually a schedule 1 not 3
